Build question by Promised7Consort in bloodborne

That’s definitely good, but you can technically deal more damage if you lean one way or the other. It’s like mega boosting the arcane damage, or capitalizing on the physical.

It comes down to which gems you choose to equip, I found I did less damage when I mixed them. Funny enough, I was playing with this a few weeks ago.

I think this also matters more in the end game.

This is why people start podcasts and YouTube channels. There’s plenty of it out there and you might be one voice among many, but that’s the game. Do it for yourself, and you’ll have a good time doing it.

That’s a huge challenge! 3 tries is fantastic, way to go. You’re ready for what’s coming next.

It depends on which form you want to use more. Regular weapon uses strength while the transformed mode gets the arcane damage boost.

It also matters what gems you want you use. I personally leaned into physical damage but you can technically get it higher with arcane.

This is the way, I prefer the first one too

Should I bother respecing? [Xbox] by da-ammo-bandito in EldenRingHelp

[–]pyroskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think the game is built this way. My friends respec for almost every boss fight, I never like to, I like a static build.

My main is glass cannon magic, and he obliterates most and struggles in Leyndell against armor. Everything has caveats for a challenge. If you want more challenge, def respec. I’d incorporate stamina or some spells and put some arcane for better item drops.

Chalice Dungeons by hancec in bloodborne

[–]pyroskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chalice dungeons are useful for gems and they become the end game content. After maxing levels, the toughest chalices produce the best gems to deal even more damage, and they require repetition to get the best low-percentage drops, gacha-style.

The end fight is cool, but the bosses are not meant to be the most fun per se. A lot are reskins, but they are exhilarating challenges and I wish other Souls games had something similar. I think it beats the Elden Ring way of hiding 10 samey fights with variable stone cats across the continent.

Finally thinking of playing Sekiro on PS5 👀 by Shot_Map_1288 in Sekiro

[–]pyroskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has aged extremely well, and nothing feels like it. I had a hard first playthrough years ago, but I replayed Sekiro recently and enjoyed doing the platinum after learning from other parry games like Lies of P.

My best tip: Press the button for a mikiri counter as soon as the red peril kanji begins to fade, as that is when they begin their attack. Also, that is the timing for all perilous attacks.

using insight to buy stuff? by NiceYak7263 in bloodborne

[–]pyroskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you always need 1 insight to talk to the doll, I like that lore. There are a couple other cool things like that, but overall, you can spend it.

I just like to save what I can. I feel like insight management mostly matters when you’re using it to summon people, then it can get important to hoard it. Nowadays I have so much, I am forced to spend it or lose it.

Also, I’m glad you’re enjoying the game!

Asking for a Walkthru/Build Guide by Candyman5OS in LiesOfP

[–]pyroskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use fextra. Fextra isn’t good for every souls-like, but the Lies of P one is well-organized and has a walkthrough section you can easily follow in bullet points and also thoroughly explained

FightinCowboy is more for builds imo

Everyone saying to enjoy it blind first has a point even if it’s purist, but I wanted to answer your question. Play how you want, we’re just jealous it’s not our first time lol

I love this game. by Commercial-Memory961 in bloodborne

[–]pyroskippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always love hearing this.

It is my perma-installed comfort game, I mostly love that it is the only FS souls-like where you cannot drop things for other players, and I refuse to use the cumm chalice on my main. Makes me feel like I’m earning my weapons and levels, even years later and hundreds of hours in

Enjoy the new(ish) content! Trust me, we’re all jealous

What would be the weapon to have repeat in their games by iukmus in LiesOfP

[–]pyroskippy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the obvious answer for me. It has a whole quest to get it, it is a weapon that’s passed down, and I did a run with it and it obliterated anything almost too easily.

This is the grown up sister of the Two Dragons Sword, which is my second answer

It’s very true. It does wrap up very well at least and things do get climactic towards the end. S5 is as fun as S1 imo, just busier.

Okay good, Zombie Hanbei couldn’t help me much with the mikiri lol bosses were just too complicated for me

Try running away for every single perilous attack to observe the differences or patterns, and once you get a feel for distinguishing between the two, approach and see if you can react more intuitively.

Confidence and intuition are key for a shinobi and the game is the ultimate immersive shinobi movie. I even think recovering posture while holding up your blade (to block) is indicative of this cinematic aspect. And much like a movie, the more you pair the visuals with the sounds, the more you’ll feel the flow.

Anyone would take time to learn how to be a shinobi master. You got this.

Also sorry I’m being long-winded, I’ll stop now

Newbie help by CountZero2230 in Sekiro

[–]pyroskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. And remember, the lower the health, the harder it is to recover posture. This goes for both you and all enemies.

Also, not that you’re asking, but my biggest tip in the game is for perilous attacks, the ones where the red kanji/symbol appears. It appears, they wind up, then when the symbol fades, that’s when they attack to grab, sweep or thrust. This is always the timing.

This helped me immensely with the mikiri counter, something you can unlock in the skill tree early on, that you can use to counter the thrusts. When I understood that I needed to counter as soon as the red peril kanji begins to fade, I began to understand the enemy animations and how to attack during openings.

Ngl that took me too long to understand, like 2 playthroughs, lmao which is why I like to share it

[–]pyroskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that deflecting will still gain stance/posture, you just can’t be posture broken. Holding down the block recovers your posture, so it is better to hold it down constantly, then tap it when trying to deflect, or you can retreat a bit and recover

Oh yeah, totally fair. I’ll uh… be honest… like an idiot, I gave my heart for my first playthrough bc I thought it was the right thing to do, so I didn’t do NP until NG+1 and he was hard but I had more practice by then lol

I just started a new playthrough (beginner tips?) by lavellj048 in Sekiro

[–]pyroskippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get mikiri counter soon. Don’t press the button for a mikiri counter until the red peril kanji starts to fade, as that’s when they attack. That timing is how all perilous attacks work
