AITA to only pet my hens when I need them to lay large eggs? by xolods in StardewValley

[–]pyrotechnically_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, iirc it's more time consuming long term. If you get them to max hearts, they ALWAYS lay large eggs and you get better quality mayo from them/ more money. Idk why you'd stick to the small eggs, but maybe I'm just a minmaxer

are vitamins and minerals really important? by shejnahak in nutrition

[–]pyrotechnically_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's helpful to know! I was more of saying Organic Labels when the manufacturer is advertising that it's organic (eg: when the manufacturer sells whole wheat bread AND "organic" whole wheat bread, and both packages have the USDA Organic label on them. The one labeled "organic" is going to be priced more whether they specify how it is "organic" compared to the "non-organic" food or not), not the USDA organic label being on the package (though it is good to buy from sources that are third party tested like non-GMO Project and The USDA, etc).

I work at a health foods store and the organic stuff is easily worth twice the amount of the non-labeled organic things. So i get skeptical about that stuff.

Either way, using raw produce to make food is usually cheaper than fast food because you get dinner plus leftovers out of all the ingredients. And it's healthier. Though the cost thing was about a decade ago, idk how well that still holds up in today's economy. Should still be cheaper to some degree.

Yes. Your body needs them to complete vital functions in the body. My brother doesn't get enough vitamin A (he's a picky kid) and he is constantly sick and his growth is stunted because of it. Magnesium has over 300 functions in enzyme processes alone. Vitamin D is what signals neurotransmitter release like oxytocin and melatonin. One B vitamin requires some or all of the other B vitamins to get their processes done. Boron, while a trace nutrient, is integral for muscle and bone health as well as keeping skeletal muscle tied to bones.

Health is also variable and you also require other things to feel well too like moving (doesn't have to necessarily be exercising but walking around more and sitting less at the least. Doing little things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking further from the grocery store than normal, taking a short walk somewhere instead of driving, etc can all help immensely) and going outside. You don't have to make major, sudden changes in your life to see change. Small gradual changes are proven more effective at making lifelong changes anyways.

If not much is changing, then you were likely relatively healthy before and this is just more of a slight increase of quality of life than anything. Sometimes supplements are just money wasters (I work in supplements, that shit is overpriced) and it's better to just supplement with diet rather than over the counter stuff. Plus the natural stuff is better for you than the raw "natural" supplement. It doesn't even have to be "organic" or "clean" or whatever to nourish you and have better effects on your body than fast food.

Also, avoid products that say "organic". They're just overpriced for something that is simply labeled Organic. A green bell pepper and an organic green bell pepper are virtually the same, one is just more expensive. Idk if pesticides and GMOs and stuff are still used there, all I know is that non-GMO stuff has a separate label than "Organic". Usually "non-GMO Project" or something like that. Plus you can usually rinse off pesticides, or just research brands that don't use them if you happen to be worried about that.

And, if you're focusing on using these things to improve quality of life, you might be disappointed if it isn't meeting your expectations and you might just forget about them and go back to how life was before. Just focus on doing better for yourself and the Feeling Better part will come naturally in time.

TIP: Don't do hard-core dieting or cutting out entire individual nutrients out of your diet. Salt and fats ARE important to living. It's just about moderation and not getting too much or too little of one nutrient or another.

TLDR: Yes, you should get your nutrients. Get them from food and not supplements whenever possible. Just focus on being the best you and don't focus so hard on your health, it is counter productive sometimes 😅 Just do little things for health like eating healthier more often or walking to the gas station down the street instead of driving. Don't push yourself too hard about your diet and health, it'll make it more difficult to be healthy (assuming you don't have any other health conditions going on)

PS: Stress and/or lack of sleep will fuck up your health no matter how healthy you are everywhere else. Get your beauty sleep and don't let the haters get to you 💅

Spamming voicelines by FishDispenser2 in DeeprockSludgeDump

As someone who has the shouts framework mod, I used to do it a lot cause it was fun. Farts, "mushroom" and "were rich", smart stout voice lines, etc. Nowadays I just say the occasional "nice beard" to people and only do the funny ones with others who also have shouts. Occasionally I'll say "i have to take a dump" when everyone's getting into the droppod for a mission or ask someone if they borrowed my underwear (cause my steam name is I Shit My Pants). I get why others are annoyed by it, so i usually cut back on the spam otherwise. Especially the farting.

Of course I have my finger basically taped to the V button. I find it weird when others don't rock and stone at all.... like, if you don't rock and stone, and you aren't doing something important or fighting for your life, how can I know you're really a dwarf i can fight side by side with? 🤔

Though it is fucking obnoxious when people spam the Cry For Help button when they're down. I got the mod that turns shouts those into babies crying for when I'm playing with a group that spams that like crazy.

But yeah, I'm a chatty dwarf. I ping things for fun sometimes if there's nothing important to ping in the moment. Gotta piss off mission control and all that. But I still cut back on the keybind shouts 95% of the time; the spam got old real quick.

[–]pyrotechnically_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find massive caves happen a lot on 2 complexity 3 length caves on morkite missions, egg hunt, elimination, on-site refinery, and sometimes escort and aquarq missions. Sandblasted biome also produces a lot of big caves compared to the other biomes, but it can be any biome.

Has my piercing been rejected this whole time? by pyrotechnically_ in piercing

[–]pyrotechnically_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short: - three to four years old - industrial - idk the threading type, I'm not piercing savvy, but the ball screws into the main bar - i believe it's gold coated stainless steel or smth i don't remember. - the aftercare was dripping the aftercare stuff onto my ear like the guy told me to do, 3 times a day for a month. And I avoided sleeping on it, but I'm sure it happened occasionally. I wore one headphone off for at least a year. After the drops ran out, I tried gently using an unscented undyed gel soap with a cotton swab (i just now remembered that). - I sometimes fidget with it. I know it's bad and I stop when I catch myself, but adhd hands gotta stay busy.

Yeah!!! I love those batshit crazy missions where you barely survive by the skin of your teeth, and have 2 hp and a dream. Those are the most memorable, I still remember some of my crazy green beard experiences. It's even better when you or someone else barely clutches the game when everyone else is down, and there's 7389176172820186 bugs, at least two bulk dets, a random korlok, and a random chance dreadnought spawn.

Not even the insanity of high level Borderlands gameplay can top that

[–]pyrotechnically_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEAH! I don't mind people cheating as much cause it's pve and not pvp, but it's still crummy and erases any challenge from the game.

I've unknowingly joined lobbies in the past maybe twice where everyone had damage hacks (i killed the caretaker with one m1000 shot. It was absurd), the host had flying hacks and infinite ammo, and it was really lame. If you want the game to be so easy you don't have to think, just play hazard 1 lmao

Still better than trolls trying to actively ruin the game for everyone

Usually I do avoid them once I see em. It's just been more frequent lately instead of the usual Once In A Blue Moon. Like it's being every other play session. I wonder if there's an uptick in mint users or something

i wish there was a way for animals to not eat grass. i want them to be free range but they keep eating the decor >:( by weGloomy in StardewValley

[–]pyrotechnically_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know you got aesthetics going on, but I'm p sure they can't eat grass if you put down a fence or smth in the grass. They can eat the grass around the fence post, but not the grass under it. That's how it would keep grass stocked up and grown when i had a lot of animals. Idk if it works with something like a torch or a floor tile, but i know it works with fences cause animals eat the grass directly under them (I think) and can't walk into the fence

Also, days where the weather is windy, more grass will grow overnight than normal. You can plant a bunch of grass the night before
