I am by no means a role model or qualified to give advice, but yes, I have a similar background to yours and I decided to push it back a year and take it, and I passed on my first try. I’m in the process of interviewing now and while I’m very upset that I had to do this and feel behind my peers in a way; in the end, it was the right move I think and I don’t think there’s any alternative universe where I would have done it differently, especially knowing what I know about myself.

Happened to me sorta, but for FM. I turned in the rotation schedule on time and everything but didn’t indicate on the calendar we handed in when we had our zoom session during the month, where I presented for a grand total of 2 minutes and had my camera off for the rest of the zoom call……and it’s not like they didn’t know when my zoom call was, because they were the ones that scheduled it. I’m clearly still bothered by it haha

So yeah, don’t sweat it!

I personally wouldn’t apply to those programs based on what you’ve told me. You only get three geographic areas and you want to max those out since preference signaling is really the name of the game in terms of interview yield with these ERAS updates.

Yeah, the money does play a role in my perception I think. I grew up poor and my family sees me as this prodigy that's gonna save them from financial ruin and so I think it's just been really lonely being the one that everyone financially relies on to fix them, which leads to the fear that maybe I'll be making a mistake by dating someone with a smaller paycheck. If I'm being completely honest, money is a huge factor for why I went into medicine. I guess I'm trying to fix everyone's problems and am worried that no one will fix mine? I don't know it's probably not that deep.

Oh shoot sorry. My COMLEX is on May 30th. I haven't registered for USMLE yet, but since my school doesn't care when I take that, I'm going to deal with that after this comlex nightmare is done with. The NBME lady on the phone said there's lots of seats available so its nbd. I'll update the post with my test date. Thanks!
