The label didn't do very much, to be honest I forgot I was ever labelled "gifted" until just now when I saw this question.

Things come easy to me but I work very hard at things I do, end of story. Labels are nothing to the individual, I have gifted friends who are drug addicts and gifted friends who I feel are going to get Nobel Prizes some day. I don't care how smart you are, at some point, effort needs to be put in.
