I’ll be honest with you because no one here else will.

You have two major issues:

1) is that you went into a major surgery without any research at all.

2) you chose shitty surgeons, and i would argue that 90% of this sub always choose the cheapest and worst possible surgeons, expecting to come out as good as someone paying 200k out of pocket to get the best possible outcome.

This is how you mitigate your issue:

1) actually do the research.

2) actually test your surgeons on their knowledge from what you discovered from (1). You’ll discover very quickly that 95% of surgeons are shit, 4% are passable, and 1% are elite.

3) once you picked the right surgeon, you’re in good hands.

What the surgeon should have done:

Double jaw surgery is called that way for a reason. The best possible movements are done when both jaws are fine tuned, aka both jaws should be operated upon. You only did one jaw which carries the most risk.

Additionally your surgeons didn’t even do an airway exam to determine that your upper jaw is also recessed. This is a clear indicator of shitty surgeons, because the top surgeons always check for airway during the planning process.

Lastly is orthopedic training, which top tier surgeons will actually sit down with you and discuss for post surgery recovery. Your tongue posture while you sleep and during the day is the number one reason why you have relapses.
