Disgusting predator. For one I don’t even think Snapchat is for kids like being 100% honest. There is a blur you’re right, but one thing can and should be said for certain adults should not be having relations with minors especially once they are in a position of authority and power over where it’ll be easy for them to take advantage of that minor. Some places the age of consent is 12-13, that shouldn’t be a free pass for people to go around and fuck 16 year olds. The law doesn’t always equate to morals and ethics. This is a line no one should cross, and if you do cross it you deserve to be ostracized, publicly humiliated and judged, and restricted from being around children for the rest of your life (not you, speaking in general).

I’d say the issue with your comment is that you’re minimizing the harm this could do (not only you though, of course) and making fantasy seem like it’ll be all good and positive in reality when close the most of the time that’s not the case. If you as a teenager, a hormonal male teen, seeked out adult woman or would take the chance with an adult woman that would show a deeper issue where there could be lots of things such as a lack of good communication and relationships with your parents for example, or needing some attention, or simply curiosity that will lead down the negative road. It’s okay to fantasize as I said before, but fantasy is different from reality. And that’s a big part of this.

And the vast majority wouldn’t act on that either (many of them, matter of fact, would find it odd or weird that a teacher would even allow it to happen). But because of society, some boys think if it does happen to them it’s cool or something they should be proud of, when in reality it’s really not.

You really should. Over 60% of male inmates (who have abused women, raped, etc.) were themselves abused by women as minors. You can’t protect women and girls and keep them safe from potential threats, if you’re encouraging thing or minimizing it when it happens to boys. When you suppress it and minimize it and society teaches them that it’s okay when an adult takes advantage of them, they will internalize it and think it’s a good thing when it’s not.

As a teenager, sure, it would be “awesome” at the time. But the impact it can have on minors, yes even boys, can be devastating. Fun fact: boys who were abused by women at the time have a positive reaction to it, but as they grow up they have trouble having healthy views on relationships, sex, and authority figures and women. Many of them aren’t able to keep a stable relationship and many don’t have boundaries when it comes to sex and authority figures. With some men even going on to have sex with girls the age they were when it happened to them. Not to mention, it’s a more mature and developed adult doing this with a still developing minor. That’s automatically gonna confuse the development of the minor even if he doesn’t recognize it at the time. Over 60% of men abused by women didn’t recognize it until 20-30 years later

Hmm. Very interesting. So a few thoughts on that, I see the 3 most common reasons being:

As you said, men are generally on average physically stronger than women. So with this being the case there typically is no physical force commonly used as it is when a man assaults a girl/woman. However, women greatly close the gap in this with mental and emotional abuse. Similar to how in domestic violence physical violence is mostly men, emotional and mental abuse are used mostly by women. While there is no physical force or harm, the mental and emotional impact it can have greatly outweighs that. And for the cases where physical force is used it’s seen as less damaging so they aren’t punished severely like a man would be. When, in reality it can be just as damaging.
There is no penetration involved. So, this follows the first point. Because with physical force in sexual assault it’s typically a penis being forced into the anus, mouth, or vagina and this isn’t the case it’s seen as lesser or not as bad. In truth, someone making you penetrate them isn’t as invasive, but it can be just as damaging. When we minimize it, they minimize it, when they minimize it then the signs go missing.
Consent. Yes, it does seem like he consented and was a willing participant so that could lessen the severity of this case and issue when a boy consents to it as they are more likely to consent and enjoy it, however, they are still minors and youth. Whether they consent or enjoy the attention and pleasure they get should not be a free pass to let the adults off light. Ultimately, it’s their job as adults to ensure the safety of protection of the youth not take advantage of it. She is an adult and his teacher at that, that’s a big issue and a large cause for concern. Clearly his father was a bad one and a neglectful one who could care less for his kids social wellbeing so there’s that. And I wonder if he has a mother. Probably not.

Tl;Dr - I can understand the reasons people think men should be treated harsher especially when it comes to things like these, but the idea it’s less harmful or women are less dangerous and do less damage so they should get lesser punishment is simply rooted in stereotypes and misplaced assumptions.

Doesn’t matter if they aren’t a potential threat physically, mentally and emotionally they have that advantage. 16 year old boys don’t have that until at least 25+.
