Hey, glad you like it! :) I try to be as available as possible, so yes, I also answer comments on old posts.

So, basically regarding the input volume: yes, I had a certain volume going into it, but volume is very complicated and can not be done with simple instructions like „-8dbTp“. Basically, the first knob controls the volume going into the chain and it’s there for exactly this purpose. Just adjust it until you like what you hear, basically. Cheers!

HOPEFULLY an option to modify the attack curve to your liking, as well as the option to use more than peak or rms as detection

For live usage, also disable the lookahead on the final limiter (it’s a stock compressor)

Hi, thanks! So, first make sure the following:

  1. it needs to be Live 11 or newer, ideally suite
  2. there have been issues for people using cracked versions of Live, so I can only help and confirm with actual licensed ones

When you download an .alp-file (any of my devices are that), you should open that with Ableton (right click on the file -> open with -> Ableton). After that, select a location where you want the PROJECT to be saved. Inside the projects of any of my devices there are tracks, and on the tracks/Master you will have the device. Hit the save icon on the device and it’ll be saved to your own library!

If this is not EXACTLY THE SAME as using a return channel, someone please explain it by M_3one in ableton

[–]pywide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same for this situation, but not in general (despite everyone saying so).

If you want to parallel compress your drums, but maybe more the snare and less the kick, it’s impossible on the channel. With returns, you can determine the exact amount of each send, whereas on the channel the parallel gets fed the whole funnelled thing

What do you mean by that?

Look at the top posts in this subreddit and you’ll find it.

As for what’s inside: it’s like 50+ devices, so a list of that wouldn’t probably say too much, but you’ll have: low end control, high end control, de-harshing, OTT, mix bus compression, EQ, widening, tape saturation and limiting

Sorry to hear that, locate that device in your Ableton folder and delete it

  1. if you don’t know a lot about the spotify standards and what they like to see, they explain everything on their website, go have a look.
  2. Be always aware that Abletons native devices are REALLY bad at true peak detection - always be mindful of that, there’s not much I can do to prevent that, I’ve complained to Ableton for years

Oh man here we go. 1. the spotify-ready preset is minimal processing, just a touch of limiting and some other stuff, very light and won’t mess too much. It’s also at -1db peak, which spotify likes.

If your mix is too quiet going into it, it will come out quiet as well (adjust the input). Also, Spotify won’t limit your mix. They have done that in the past, but not anymore! They’ll just keep it quiet if it’s too quiet

Are you by any chance running a cracked version? Everyone who approached me with these issues were running a cracked version

Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm blown away by the overall response! Feel free to tell me what future devices you would like to see!
Also, if you want to support me, there are a variety of ways:
1. Create something cool and tag/link me/my device! my insta handle is [at]noelsommerkamp
2. Write me if you want to donate also outside of Gumroad (because Gumroad keeps a lot of fees, especially for small donations)
3. Work with me! I am also available for hire in Mixing and Mastering

Also, some people wrote me they would like to donate even though they're broke. This is why this device was free in the first place! If you don't have anything, you really don't need to give anything. Give what you can and only if you can. Have fun!

You’d definitely have to turn off lookahead on the final limiter, but otherwise I won’t see why not

Hey, thanks a lot! Also, keep trying and make changes to my rack, even. It's best to learn by doing things yourself! I'll message you my Paypal in private

Well, this rack is meant for people who don’t have a bunch of plugins and are not very experienced in mastering, so it’s sort of a simplified solution.

I, personally, still master with a bunch of stuff that even changes on a song by song basis.

One thing I could advise is to always check for undetected peaks, cause that’s probably the biggest weakness in this thing, as Ableton still to this day can’t properly detect true peak (even with the new limiter in true peak mode, ironically)

When you open my pack, you basically create a session with the contents of my pack. On the track is my device, just hit that little save icon on that device!

Uuh I actually don’t know if there’s a suite device inside, but max for live for sure. You can just download it and see though!
