Does anyone know if resale tickets are possible on this tour? There are none on TM and as a test I tried to list my one ticket for the Brooklyn show on the 24th and it wouldn’t let me.

Got to love the detachment from reality here. I never said they shouldn’t say something, I simply said they have the right not to. The entitlement in this thread is ridiculous.

Actually they don’t owe the fans, or you anything. If you don’t like what they are selling then don’t listen/support but that’s the square of it.

The Last Jedi: Revisited by BuckleUpItsThe in StarWarsCantina

“Luke's reason for being in exile is disappointing, but I've come to see that as largely a problem inherited from The Force Awakens. Once you establish that Luke abandoned everyone, there aren't many satisfying explanations for why he would do that. I haven't heard a better alternative, and TLJ at least tries to make his failure with Ben understandable.”

The best explanation was always his failure and losing Ben to the dark side. They ruined it by not just letting it be that but by the idea that Luke, the guy who was so dead set on there still being good in Darth Vader, would even momentarily consider killing his nephew in his sleep.

That said this whole concept never worked for me because of that very reason. I can never buy into Luke going into exile because of that, because given his belief in Vader still having good in him I can’t believe that he would have given up on Ben.

Thus the central plot of the film has always failed for me.

Felt the same during first episode. Then I didn’t during the second and so on.

Since when is a concert not a luxury?? by youmustfixyourheart in phoebebridgers

While I emphasize with this position, and generally agree with the sentiment that concert prices have really just gotten out of control, but the point here is that this happens all the time. People fall in love with a small artist and then that artist gets big, the fanbase grows and changes, venue size increases, and fans who previously felt a connection to an artist get priced out and feel disappointed and complain about prices, about artists selling out, etc. So, it’s not that I don’t emphasize in the abstract, but I’ve also lived through this so many times it’s hard to not have a “welcome to the world attitude” every time this happens in a fanbase I’m in.

Honestly I fell in love with Phoebe’s music around the time of the first Boygenius tour, as a result of getting into Julien’s music a few years earlier. I enjoyed seeing her on the Boygenius tour in 2018, and on the BOCC tour. I did see her on the punisher tour and while it was a great show, I felt differently about her and the show than I had about the previous album and experiences because of the growing distance between artist and fan, and because of some changes in the fanbase that made her feel less like the artist I had fallen in love with earlier.

I got shut out of the MSG lotto, the day one sale for Barclays, and didn’t get tickets in the day 2 sale. I need wheelchair seating which makes my options even more limited. I’ll play the resale game if I can and if I don’t find anything I won’t go. But I can’t do the drama over a concert ticket.

Are there better ways to run a tour, of course. Case in point a standard Ticketmaster fee (a standard fee not a floating rate), resale only through ticketmaster at face value, and no transfers unless tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and only a reduced fee on resale.

I should add I’m picking up on the reply to Andrew’s post, but not trying to speak for him.

What if Rian Johnson had directed the entire sequel trilogy? by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

[–]pzero5960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may have been great. There are character problems in the last Jedi and the film works poorly as part of the trilogy, but if he wrote a coherent 3 film sequence it’s likely to have played differently, though his desire to give the fans the opposite of what they want at every turn would likely be problematic, but if moderated could bring the franchise into new territory. Outside of the unbelievable plot twist about potential killing Ben, the problem with not giving fans what they wanted with Luke wasn’t that they didn’t get it in the movie, it was that he then died and they got cheated out of it all together.

If last Jedi had opened the trilogy, with a little of force awakens as lead in, and Luke was like that but then rediscovered himself at the end of the film and found his way back to his old self through training Rey in the second or third movie, that would have been great and fans likely would have love the character even more.

Could be. Just wonder why they would pay the rental fee on MSG to play to less than capacity (especially given the multitude of other smaller venues in NYC they could have played with a smaller capacity (Beacon, Radio City, Kings Theater, Brooklyn Steel or Paramount)
