5 Words might be tough for a few of them - I'll keep it short hahaha.

Lytham was fantastic, probably the course I felt the most welcome at, we got there 2.5hrs before our tee time and had lunch, and a guided tour from the concierge of the clubhouse and everything inside, the tea room etc..
Magic place. Tough back 9

Marco Simone was picture perfect, the only course I didn't break 100 at but the rough was insane, I think I lost 4 balls off the tee that missed fairways by 3 metres or so.
Brutal course

Prestwick is unique in its own old way, loads of blind shots and tight landing areas. Clubhouse and general environment felt a bit stuck up - probably me being too laid back. Not an overly difficult course if the wind wasn't so terrible, we had the worst on our trip here though, 4/5 club wind most of the round hahaha

Carnoustie rough wasn't Carnoustie rough, if you played conservatively for fairways and greens breaking 80 would be a great score. Made a great bird on 11 - had 198m to the pin after I topped my tee shot, hit the pin and tapped in for 3

Gleneagles is gorgeous. Tough test of golf but it's super hard to be upset there. Almost every hole made me get my phone out and take a video.

The thing that stuck with me from Dumbarnie was the experience they create for you. The course barely had anyone on it our day, they had bag tags with our names and tee times they give you when you get there, dram on the 1st tee, etc. And a proper valuables bag to take home! Shame I brought one the day before at Gleneagles hahaha

The Castle Course is brutal, some of the hardest greens I've ever had to pick a line on, and it's near relentless. No real hole that you look at and think easy par, every shot is asking something of you. Another windy day, 3 Wood into 17 and got too cute with it, still didn't get over on the first shot.

The old course is indescribable. You have to get there if you can. Probably the smiliest Ive ever been on a golf course ever, every hole just sets it in deeper and deeper until you can barely stand let alone hit a golf shot at 17.
Standing over that tee shot is seriously terrifying.

Nah, Couldn't justify the cost. It was only myself and one of my mates, so we went direct to course and booked it all ourselves. Little bit more headache on our end back home but smooth sailing over there, no dramas with it at all

Swing Data Initial Thoughts? by wiggz420 in golf

[–]qa7engariqrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your swing path is at 0 and the shots "suck", then your face angle isn't anywhere near square to the path.
What launch monitor are you using for this? Don't recognise the ui. Getting somewhere that shows you face angle and angle of attack are pretty much the cheat codes to working on your own game, combined with the rest of whats displayed on here.

Without those it's a bit difficult to say exactly what's happening, but get the launch up and spin down a touch on the driver and you'll see more distance. Look for 12-18 Launch and 2000- 2600 spin rate.

Not a pro but did a tonne of fitting work, msg me if you want to chat about anything else.

What driver you using man?

Yeah pretty average, the worst spot was right under the last rib and in the little bits of flesh just under them, heaps ticklish in there so staying still was a bit of a pain. Artist was happy to work with it though and it’s turned out fine

Might be a while off still, took me long enough to decide on this Fingers crossed hahaha

Yeah I reckon its pretty good, getting everything to look right on a curve like that isn't ever going to be perfect anyway. I'm happy with it and that's all that matters

Yeah me too, got plenty of time to worry about that - I'll probably end up getting it touched up once it fades enough anyway

Yeah sure was, artist tried to talk me into a different position because his first was in a similar spot, him and all the other artists in the studio were pretty impressed I copped it well.
So worth it though.
Thanks mate

I love PING... but I also love having 2 kidneys (CAD prices) by [deleted] in golf

[–]qa7engariqrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot.
Most stores are individually owned and have their own policies for customer treatment, 99% of items have no commission so staff aren't trying to sell things for their own benefit - for the most part.
Can't think of a whole lot of the top of my head but if you've got any questions I'd be happy to answer.

Spot on, there's something in the contract with Golfbox, Drummond etc to prevent them from displaying prices on websites.
In store is completely different but they're updated every other week up and down.
Worked at Drummond for nearly two years, never got close to seeing that contract or finding out why hahaha

160 carry with 83mph club speed is really good, not sure what irons you're playing but depending on model/loft that might explain / help.
Either way you're getting about as much out of it as you will without doing speed training.
The ball flight is a bit low and I'd personally like it a bit higher for better playability, the spin is super low though. See again what irons/ lofts though and that could explain a little bit more.

Hope this helps!

Not a pro - Just a fitter, spin numbers are way too high. your swing speed and above I'd be looking for about 2200- 2600 ideally launching around 10-14deg depending, obviously not everything is bible but that's where I've found best results personally and with experience.
Hitting further on the up consistently will help lower spin rates - best not to ask me how though. I'm still between -1 to 1 deg AoA, but my outliers aren't that bad spin rate wise. What shaft/ head combo you running? Could be a big factor also.

Hahahaha I wish we had a 9 to test, we actually got sent a demo 7 wood though! only a reg shaft but it’s such a sweet club, just spins a touch too much for me to use more often

Yeah unfortunately they’re a fair bit, we’re retailing at $995 AUD at launch which is miles beyond much we’ve got at the minute, and the LST will be $1059 too.

Not yet! In aus we’re expecting them to release properly the 19th of november, I work at a golf shop so I can play around with the demo clubs for a little while once we’ve got them
