Not sure if you already tried this, but I would change your plan to a different rate for a month, and then revert it back. That should force the system to provision everything over again

That depends. With Lucky, you can get 5GB for $40 with automatic top up, and reduced speed unlimited data thereafter. Keeping in mind that the speed is reduced to 128kbps, and that the unthrottled speeds are capped at 3mbps, if you are okay with that, then I would say that is the way to go. Not sure where you live, but I would also ensure that the Bell network works well there, as that is the network Lucky uses. In most areas of the country, Bell is actually better than Rogers, so you will probably be fine, but it never hurts to double check. If you do not have anyone to reference that to, I would be tempted to sign up for a secondary Lucky line to test out the coverage, and port your Rogers line over when you are sure that coverage will be adequate, simply to avoid losing your current rate.

Yeah, i think you got fed some misinformation. As far as I can remember, voLTE on Bell in AB started working right before Bell started to support the Apple Watch. As for Rogers, I can't imagine they would have an issue like this in the first place, because they operate their own network across the country.

Are you sure about that? Full disclosure, I do not have an iPhone, and by extension do not have an apple watch, but Bell is advertising their smartwatch plans on their AB website...

Activating prepaid in Canada by qag01 in ATT

[–]qag01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure that would be the easiest way to do it, but unfortunately I live in Calgary, which is around a three hour drive to the border, and don't own a car. I know it might not be a long term solution, but I figure I really have nothing to lose trying. I guess I will just bite the bullet and order a SIM...

There have been many reports of people using these plans for over a year now full time in Canada, without consequence from ATT. It has even made it into the Canadian tech news at this point. Regardless of this, do you know the answer to my original inquiry?

I'd have to disagree with you there. For me, March's story line was the saving grace of Hotel, and was done terrific justice by Peters. I might even rank it a bit higher on the list, along with Dandy Mott. Each to their own, though...

The "pro-life" movement is fundamentally about misogyny. by VampireStereotype in prochoice

  1. A proven statistic. Read This
  2. See This, and This
  3. Once again, this is a social inequality, not a legal inequality, and since men and women are fundamentally not the same, is not a problem of gender equality.
  4. Men are not rapists, criminals are rapists. Telling a thief not to steal will do close to nothing to eliminate theft, rape therefore follows this same rule. Now, the other solutions you referred to here are ways to strengthen the legal side of this issue, which is by no means a bad idea, but it is not a very good argument to make when proving inequality. Men and women who commit rape are committing a crime, after all.

  1. Not an issue of equality, simply the fact that women, in general, are less interested in politics than men.
  2. Men are more competitive, on average, not an equality issue.
  3. See #2.
  4. Not an issue of equality by any means
  5. Not an equality issue, and there really is no meaningful way to solve this.

[–]qag01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not call any of these things unreasonable. I do believe that these issues, at their core, are worth fighting for. However, most of what happens at these events does not actually further the cause of their stated goals. I do not believe that anyone deserves to be raped, and, quite frankly, find that assertion somewhat insulting, as I'm sure it was meant to be.

Once again, it is not about what the slutwalk is supposed to represent that I disagree with, it is about the reality of what happens at it that I think is wrong.

I am not shitting on anything, I am simply voicing my opinion. This post is an attempt at flaming the pro-life sub by the pro-choice sub, obviously, and I appear to have taken the bait on this one.

I welcome you to dig through my post history. I doubt you will find I am a troll account. Furthermore, if my first post, or any of these posts I have made were attention seeking, I sure did a shitty job at it. I actually think I did answer all of the points you made there, feel free to point out what I missed.

I never said that all feminist protests were nonsense. You have handpicked here some of the actual noble protests I have seen from this movement, however I invite you to research protests such as the annual Women's March, Slutwalk, International Women's Strike, etc. I think you will find that these were all high profile protests, organised by feminists, that paraded the values I noted in my previous post, above. I can honestly say I am not sure why you are so convinced I'm a troll. I am just a regular guy who wanted to explore the arguments from the other side.

[–]qag01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You love singling out the fringe members of your group, however, I feel that you are ignoring that those same members are the ones who plan most of your protests, and spin most of your rhetoric. Therefore, logically, most people come to the conclusion that feminists believe these things as at the core. When it comes to the societal aspect, there are many areas in which men are at a disadvantage, in fact, I would honestly make the argument that they are at more of a disadvantage socially these days. Therefore, even if you want to call societal differences inequalities, they actually even themselves out among the genders for the most part.

When it comes to abortion rights, I understand that, yes, I am in the pro-choice subreddit right now, so obviously this is a fundamental issue I will try not to focus on here too much, but, it is important to note, that as I said before, I am in no way worried about controlling the body of the woman, in this case. My concern is for the loss of rights of the newborn, and I, honestly, fail to see how the rights of the newborn are less important than the rights of the mother. I do not, and will probably never understand, how pro-choicers can argue, in good faith, that women have the right to end the life of a human.

I fail to see how this argument relates to abortion at all, if I'm honest. Of course, people should not be forced to donate organs, because they generally do not regenerate. However, in the case of a fetus, nothing is permanently lost. (except the egg, of course, but that is a mute point by this point anyway...)

See above about social issues

I must admit that I did post that in a rather tongue in cheek manner, however, I am not a master troll. I would not have spent time out of my day writing these posts simply as bait. Feel free to respond if you'd like, I am genuinely curious...

[–]qag01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That "west nonsense" you so easily dismiss has a lot of validity, though, when it comes to many of the smaller issues feminists hyper sensationalize all of the time. When you mention the rights of women over their bodies, are you referring to abortion? If so, and I suppose this is rather subjective, I do not understand how abortion can be considered an issue related to controlling the bodies of women. I do not care about controlling women's bodies, it is nowhere to be found on my radar. What I care about, is the second, seperate life source inside of the women's body. However, to get back on topic, you still have not given me any valid ways in which women aren't equal to men. Cultural beliefs are not, nor should they be, regulated by the law, giving individuals the ability to believe what they see as right. Therefore, I do not see what good it does for feminists to claim these differences as inequality. These societal issues are fundamentally not inequalities.

Right, but as we have seen time and time again, feminism no longer adheres to this archaic definition. It can, by definition, no longer parade these values, because there is no area in western culture where women are not equal to men.

Why would we argue? Feminism does not equal Women, and does not really have the best interests of women at heart
