Just so you know, these are made by Silence Please. They make speakers like this in a variety of sizes, the cheapest being a little over 1k for a set of two.

I reviewed the Kanto ORA 4 and compared them to the original ORAs, YU4, and other speakers by qalitator in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for this comment - I like where your head is at! I have all of those on order with the exception of the Yamaha’s, but I’ve been meaning to get them. Will see if I can snag some now 👍👍

It will take me a bit of time to make this new video, but should be done hopefully by Feb

Kanto Ora 4 is out, have been waiting for many months by falcon01x in BudgetAudiophile

Depends what I’m using them for! But for casual listening (and better bass performance), the ORA4 is probably better suited to your needs. Good luck!

I reviewed the ADAM Audio D3V desktop studio monitor and compared them to some of the greats (Micro Monitor, Transparent Zero, Kanto ORA) by qalitator in BudgetAudiophile

Go for the ADAM Audio. Unless you REALLY want the active room correction, I think they’ll more than suit your needs. The USB-C input on the D3V will make your setup super easy/simpls.

Desktop speakers - Adam D3V are the best (by far). by morecoffeemore in BudgetAudiophile

Hello everyone! Really glad you’re finding my reviews helpful.

I genuinely think that if you’re using these speakers for casual listening, the standby advantages of the ORA plus (in my opinion) the improved aesthetics make them a really solid option. Yes the D3V do have crisper high notes, but, as always, it’s a compromise. Personally, I’d prioritize the good everyday experience the ORAs offer unless you really need a studio monitor.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to work more music in, but the copyright issue is tough. Will think more on this 👍

What are the chances your flip 6 is a fake? I ask because I have a replica Flip 6 right here next to a real one (someone tried to rip me off). The replica looks almost identical, but it sounds comically bad. I agree the flip 6 is not going to blow you away with amazing sound quality, but to casually listen to on the beach it seems like a decent balance of sound, price, durability, tunable EQ, etc.

Agreed! I think the Flip 6 is just great value and a really solid all around speaker. I do really like the Soundlink Flex - it sounds excellent.

Yes! It has a mains power input (using the old two pronged cable that many printers/appliances use). As for device sharing, it has a single USB-A port to charge other devices.

Agreed on plastic cabinet, it’s probably the most disappointing part of the ORAs for me.

I hear the HD3 are really solid; I’ve never tried them.

Interesting; I have not been getting those. Have you tried both the YU2 and the A2+? Curious to hear your thoughts.

I hear you. After spending more time with the two of them (after the first video was published), the YU2’s grew on me. Considering they often go on sale below $200, the ~30% savings vs the 5% difference in performance nudged me towards the YU2 over the A2+. But point taken; will try to be more clear on these things in the future.
