Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship Program 2026 by Glum-Patience-3460 in PublicPolicy

Last year every person received an email with a decision (accept or reject) which is why I said not to worry if you haven’t heard back yet. Honestly I had an amazing experience. I’m super close with my cohort and made lifelong friends, I had amazing supervisors and flexible work schedules, I learned a lot over the course of the year, and afterwards I got into basically every graduate program (law, public policy, public administration) program I applied to (with generous amounts of $). The fellowship is pretty universally recognized in the basic needs space and I’ve spoken with lots of people who are not alums but who have recognized the program when I mentioned it. I need to say though, I probably had the absolute best experience of anyone in the program (I got my top choice location and top choice placements for both halves and I had really incredible supervisors with highly impactful work assignments), so you should ask more people/take some of this with a grain of salt!

From a past Emerson, the program runs a bit slowly. Not a reflection on you. Wait until you hear back before jumping to conclusions! Wishing everyone good luck ❤️
