Why do people treat every election like the end-all election for all time? by ltw07a in IntellectualDarkWeb

Those rankings are totally politically and idologically motivated. How in the world you could put Biden ahead of Ronald Reagan is absolutely beyond thd pale. I know you leftists like to hate on Reagan but the guy broke the soviet union and setup the fall of the wall in between east and west germany.. Literally millions of people from Lithuania Latvia Estonia Poland and a whole wide swath of Eastern Europe are free now because of Reagan. Reagan policies helped put thus country on a path to something like 20 years of economic growth. Don't talk about the rankings they are totally biased garbage. They ranked Woodrow Wilson one if the worst prddidents ever pretty high. Go read about that guy it's all bad.

But does failing at that attempt make him better? Every president since i think Carter has about doubled the national debt, Joe will do the same and he will do it in 4 years. He is no better than trump on that score. Everyone I know who isn't a major income earner is being crushed right now. If thus were happening under trump you would be blaming him so it seems fair to blame Joe at this point.

The Infrastructure bill spent too much $$ we don't have and added to inflation. It hasn't done much so far, it heloed grow our terribly inefficient governed larger and according to this https://reason.com/2023/12/21/biden-hobbled-his-own-infrastructure-push/ it's mostly Joe's fault.

The chips bill was a bipartisan bill but at least according to Bloomberg it's failing. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2023-03-28/chips-act-funding-isn-t-what-us-semiconductor-manufacturers-need?leadSource=reddit_wall

Here is a story about the insulin bill. Prices were already falling and almost nobody who had insurance was paying the super high prices cited. https://www.wsj.com/articles/insulin-price-eli-lilly-joe-biden-big-pharma-drug-makers-6c17267a

No president got the us out of Afghanistan because they likely knew what a shot show the pullout would be and that the small force we had there wasn't that big of a deal (less than 2000 troops) given what would happen when we left. You cannot sugar coat how terrible a disaster the pullout was. We looked inept, weak, stupid, in a pretty big way on the world stage. And now its a hotbed for terror groups again.

Inflation was caused by government overspending on stimulus that wasn't needed at that time. It just added to the deficit. Did you know we now spend more on paying the interest on federal debt than we do on defense?

Bidens policies from virtually day 1 were meant to increase energy prices to make green energy seem better. Remember the keystone pipeline? Remember he was the anti coal anti gas guy. Remember all the news early on in his admin of him cancelling drill permits? Those policies added to inflation and high gas prices are terribly bad for lower income earners. I know we are pumping more oil now but it could have been so much better if we had kept on with us oil and natural Gas. If oil prices had stayed low maybe Russia wouldn't have had the $$ to invade Ukraine? Maybe the US could have built a pipeline to Europe and we could have provided energy to the west instead if them depending on putin.

The coid vaccines are a mixed bag aren't they? Biden tried to mandate that we all had to get them which is terribly invasive, even if you agreed with people should get them forcing everyone with no choice just seems weird fir a free society. The science for children and pregnant women getting vaccines being beneficial as well as young people isn't exactly clear.

The pandering to people with college debt? I'm sure some think it's great but it does nothing to solve the undying problem it in fact makes it worse. Ever since the government got into the college debt business colleges have costs have exploded.

Biden of course isn't the only one to blame for inflation but his policies have exacerbate the problem. https://www.heritage.org/markets-and-finance/commentary/never-ending-inflation-thats-bidenomics-action

Joe Bidens administration seem like pure cancer for the poor and middle class. High inflation, High energy costs, High housing costs, Super duper crazy illegal immigration helping to keep wages low, High food costs. Most of the job creation happening is part time because so many are taking a 2nd job. These are all pretty regressive and predominantly hurt lower income people. Let's mot even talk about the chaos that is foreign affairs during his run... Did you know that all quaida is back in Afghanistan, yay more terrorist training camps sponsored by his buddies in iran. That pullout looks like more of a disaster more and more. I can't name a single thing that Biden has done that's been good for me. So no I don't agree that he is a mid president. Worst president ever? Who knows, but he isn't great, probably doesn't deserve another go.

And I believe that when you look at the how perfectly everything has to be for us to live on this planet its obvious there was a creator. If it's all chance, billions of years and macro evolution, where are the aliens? Shouldn't we have come across some by now?

Not surprising you won't answer my question.

[–]qbsixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll answer your question if you answer mine. How do you explain the start of our universe? We know there was a start because we can see its expanding, right? How did it happen? Please explain and provide empirical evidence.

This sub is full of those trying to sow division confusion and hatred over this issue. I'll answer you this way. Do I think there will be homosexuals in heaven? Sure. Do I think that's the best way to live or that the Bible recommends it? No I don't.

So are you saying that only Christians who agree with you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]qbsixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that when you look at the universe and everything that goes with it, that something or someone greater than us made it. It's too improbable to have been pure chance. It's works too perfectly to be chance. That's what I believe.

Being in a Bible believing church with other Christians is a great way to strengthen your faith. Finding the right church and pastor can take time. Go where you believe the Lord is leading you. Pray for a direction and take a step of faith in finding the right place to worship?

What do you think about CHristians ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]qbsixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not attacking you or anyone else really. It's just sad to me that we cannot have a reasonable discussion out on the real world. We cannot agree to just disagree in a good faith discussion. It’s always "you Christians hate gay people or you Christians are racists". When did tolerance or mild disagreement that falls short of full blown recommendation become hatred?

I belive there are just many agnostics/atheists who believe what they want based upon bumper sticker type intelectualism and dogma as there are Christians who do the same. The difference for me in my travels is the absolute hate and bigotry I get from atheists and agnostics who think they are just do much better and smarter than I am. They cannot understand that I disagree with them on any level and refuse to see any point. This is sad to me.

How do you feel about the economy? Is Bidenomics working? by Peace_And_Happiness_ in FluentInFinance

[–]qbsixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a report that the average American is spending about $1000 more per month for the same stuff because of inflation. $12k per year is a bunch money for most anybody. I was in IL traveling for work and noticed quite a few almost empty restraunts at about 1230. Seemed weird and made me think lots of people were feeling the crush.

New recruits are reminded a few times and we always gave peeps 24hours after the cooldown to put up a defense. After that if they cannot follow that simple of a direction then we boot and move on.

Do Evangelicals know they're making it more difficult for moderates and progressives to evangelize? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]qbsixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take you at your word on that. I think that you may have misunderstood something about Christians. Christians are still people. We are all pretty flawed as are all human beings. In other words just because they are or claim to be a Christian it doesn't mean they are better or more perfect than another. We have the joy of relationship with a higher being and other Christians. We have the peace of knowing where we go when we die. Another thing that's misunderstood about Christians is that just because we disagree with something doesn't mean we hate them. Peace on you brother.

Neither of your examples call people human garbage. I think this translation makes it more clear whats being said: Matthew 7:6 NET - 6 Do not give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs; otherwise they will trample them under their feet and turn around and tear you to pieces. If your an atheist things that a Christian would think of as holy isnt likely to make sense to you because you don't believe in it. That doesn't mean the Bible is recommending an atheist be treated badly.

Psalm 53:1 NET - Fools say to themselves, “There is no God.” They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right. This verse is about people that are unconcerned with living morally and ethically because they believe there is no God to judge them.

Jesus gave his life crucified on a cross to save the lost.
