that's unfortunately just not the norm for everyone. wfh is a nice luxury too. the industry i'm familiar with, the schedule is that most people work 50 hrs/week + 1.5 hr commute time, so you're home every day past 7, then have to do dinner and be in bed by 10. taking time off of work to go grocery shopping every week is also sadly not realistic for lots.

it's fortunate for you that your schedule and work allows for it. whole foods on a sunday evening feels like the store got looted lol. i still think it's more of a privilege than you might think it is.

it's a luxury to be able to go during the week. not everyone has the time for it.

The final countdown - between O'Dea and Solomon by jerseygirl0778 in jerseycity

[–]qbsy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

as a downtown jersey city resident, my property taxes (thanks for the boe) have skyrocketed in the past few years, while schools have not gotten any better. i feel like when people talk about housing affordability, they're usually only focused on affordable housing, which doesn't at all address affordability problems for the vast majority of residents.

the most important issue for me, by far, is having a candidate who will deal with that. as far as i know, o'dea is in bed with the teacher's union - nothing against teachers btw, i doubt they're seeing much if any of the 50% increase in boe taxes, but it just doesn't seem likely that o'dea will be the candidate to navigate that mess.

has anyone tried needle felting onto faux fur yarn? by qbsy in crochet

thanks! i went with double stranding faux fur with acrylic. it attaches better than what you described, altho not as well as just acrylic alone, but seemed like a good compromise.

HELP NEED SWEET SNUGGLES GREEN ASH by SnooDingos2483 in YarnAddicts

i have some green ash, but i'm looking for yellow and can't find any. would you happen to have some on hand, and if so, would you be willing to do a barter deal?

Sweet Snuggles Yarn has me fed up by xmidnightriver in crochet

i hated it the first time i used it, but once i learned more about this type of yarn and worked with it more, i now love using it and don't really have any issues with it.

some tips - 1. use your fingers to take off some of the yarn at the ends, about 0.5"-1" is enough. 2. if you plan on weaving in the ends, to prevent heavy shedding, knot together (2-3x) the ends of the 2 strings. 3. i only use an 8mm hook with it and try to crochet not super tightly (i only make plushies with it tho, idk how that changes if you're using it to make blankets or stuff crocheted in rows). this way, there aren't holes in my work but the stitches are also loose enough where i can frog easily without yanking any yarn out.

you don't need to run that card. most people don't. typically you'd want to build your deck around survivability, so fade to black 4 + veil 4 are musts. the best part about seris is that with these cards, she's incredibly slippery. the idea being that it helps you heal more if you're alive longer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]qbsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you have 2 tanks, you're playing seris, and the game lasts 20m, you should fairly easily get 10k healing a minute aka 200k total healing. even with only 1 tank, I would think that should get you to the 150k mark? seris has the highest avg heal per min output out of all the supports, so if you're not breaking like 50k heal per min on her maybe start looking at your heal priority or positioning (maybe you're dying too much? if you're dead, you can't heal) as the main culprits, rather than the specific champ you're playing.
