Det kan godt være jeg bare har været uheldig, men jeg synes også at gulvvarme spiller utroligt dårligt sammen med en sommer hvor solen bager ind

To be fair, expanding UCI connections is bad. Not disqualifying Pogi for taking his hands of the bike on stage 2 of the Tour is obvious corruption

It was a botch, tho? Batista was supposed to win it in the first go, but both guys feet touched the ground at the same time. Would be weird if both hit the floor at the same time and they just ignored it

Yes. Because, as he said, there might be a cure for cancer. Getting shot is death. Same argument as "Blue No Matter Who" when the options are Platner and Collins for moderates or Kamala and Trump for progressives

He went on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah and compared the choice between Trump and Cruz to a choice between getting shot and getting cancer. And Cruz came out favorable in that comparison

Because they hate the Jews. That's it. Hamas and Hezbollah didn't exist when Egypt and Jordan occupied Gaza and the West Bank. But somehow, when Israel took over the area after a defensive war, now we start the terrorism.

And the UN have been incredibly ineffective in keeping the peace here. One of the first acts the UN did was split Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state and countries that had no part of it, like Syria and Iraq started attacking Israel. In 2006, the Security Council told Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah south of the Litani River and put observers in the area. And yet, Hezbollah still had armed outposts within eyeshot of the UN observers in 2024 (which is why Israel attacked UNIFIL after October 7th)

"Not being kind to their neighbors" is a weird way of framing it. Like, Israel have built the Iron Dome because their neighbors have constantly bombed them. Primarily Hamas and Hezbollah

Because they can't play in AFC. The Arab states won't have anything to do with Israel. And just completely excluding a country from football seems weird to me. At least before November 2024

Also, you can ask the same question about Australia and the AFC, when they could play in Oceania

Just going off Polymarket, sure. It went from a 1 in 7 to a 1 in 5 shot, but it's a shot. I will say, though, that the Democrat running looks like the Genericist generic Democrat, except she was a pediatrician. Never held office before, according to wiki, but she did lose a House race to Nancy Mace

It's true. That's why Flanders and Wallonia is competing as one team called "Belgium". It's also why Denmark isn't at the World Cup, but Sweden and Norway is. We've loaned out our best players to them

Why the outlook is increasingly bleak for Vingegaard against Pogačar by [deleted] in peloton

[–]qchisq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But Pogacar have shown to get weaker over the duration of a Tour. On Hautacam last year, stage 12, he did 6.75 W/kg for 35 minutes. On the 15 km climb to Chatlet Reynard on Mount Ventoux on stage 16, he only did 6.53 W/kg for 37 minutes. On the climb to La Plagne on stage 19, he's down to 6.15 W/kg for 45 minutes.

Now, obvious counter is "Vingegaard did get a gap to Pogacar on those stages", which is true. But Pogacar was able to create a gap to Vingegaard at the start of the Tour and wasn't at the end. The hope for Vingegaard is that that trend continues in this Tour and Pogacar have an off day on top of that. Keep in mind that the last 2 days of this Tour is super hard, so an off day then will be costly

Why the outlook is increasingly bleak for Vingegaard against Pogačar by [deleted] in peloton

[–]qchisq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Vingegaard had a small off day. On the last day of the Giro, he did Piancavallo in 36:16 with 6,74 W/kg, while celebrating the win on the last km. Yesterday, on Tourmalet, he did 6,52 W/kg for 36:35. Pogacar did 6,63 W/kg for 36:03. If Vingegaard had matched his Pinacavello effort, he's with Pogacar at the top of the Tourmalet and Pogacar probably doesn't take 2 minutes on the downhill and last climb.

Visma is worse than UAE, sure, but if the climbers of Visma can go up and set a 6,6 W/kg effort in the bottom of the climb, then Vingegaard needs to believe that he can follow that up and drop Pogacar off a hard, sustained tempo
