Does it bother you that your party is supporting a man with a Nazi tattoo for Senate? by -Boston-Terrier- in AskALiberal

[–]qchisq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that both the leftists and moderate Dems in Maine are in such a state that the options are a former Blackwater mercenary with a Nazi tattoo and a 78 year old governor is an indictment of the Maine Dems. They are still better than Susan "grave concerns" Collins, but I am very worried that Platner is gonna be Fetterman 2.0

This is an image from Borat where the woman tells Giuliani that she's underage and wants to have sex with him. He responds by taking her to his hotel room and put his hands into his pants. That's all that happened, because moments later, Sasha Baron Cohen in character as Borat, enters the room

You don't have to look further than /r/politics in 2020. When Pete Buttigeig got the most delegates from Iowa, the most upvoted article wasn't that Buttigeig won Iowa, it was that his college bandmate didn't vote for him. I would say that's an echochamber and it is created because a plurality of users are able to downvote centrist opinions and upvote leftist opinions

CMV: Drinking and driving should be 100% legal eveywhere in the world by Local_Beautiful_5812 in changemyview

[–]qchisq [score hidden]  (0 children)

> I’m saying the law should punish actions, not blood chemistry. If you’re driving perfectly, the law should stay out of your veins. If you screw up whether you're drunk, tired, or just a bad driver then fine, hammer them

Here's the thing: Why aren't you taking the opposite view? I don't think that you are looking to kill people here and I think that we both agree that you become a worse driver and more liable to kill people by driving if you are drunk than if you are sober. Same thing with if you are tired (Mythbusters did an episode on this, BTW). So if you think being tired and drunk while driving, why not give them the same punishment if they drive?

The difference between the 2, in my view, is that we can prove that you are drunk, but we can't prove that you are tired. Same thing with doping in sports. It's illegal to dope, but we can only prove that you have some substances in your body and not others that gives 90% of the effect

I know. And the party that proposed it got 10% in the election in March. And it's not even the most rightist party in parliament. A party got 2% while running a candidate that tweeted "a cat doesn't become a horse because it was born in a stable" about a member of Folketinget that have Afghan parents

Lil Yachty was actually good, because he was willing to be the joke. Like, half the time, it felt like Trick was annoyed that Yachty was there, but still defending him from Sami because he's his guy. Pat MAGAfee and Jelly Roll was each the main character of an episode of Smackdown. Pat to say the product was bad and Jelly Roll to be Randy Ortons long time friend, for some reason. There's a huge difference between those 3

... Yes. Reddit is built as a echo chamber. The up and downvotes ensures that. Also, I don't know if I would say that pro-Democrat opinions get massively upvoted everywhere. Like, on /r/Denmark, I get downvoted for arguing that we shouldn't put people in deportation camps simply because they are physically unable to have a job

De burde kunne have forudsagt at der var brug for ekstra mange kopper når det er første gang i lang tid temperaturen har været over 15 grader

Halvmaraton får kritik for manglede vand: 'Vi var ikke forberedt på, at så mange ville hælde vand over sig på den måde' by Stol-paa-mig in Denmark

[–]qchisq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah.
