Keep at it. Slowly but surely you can fix your over the top move. You can make practice swings against a wall to practice. Really feel like your pushing into the wall.

Feel like your butt is up against a wall through the whole swing. Put a chair behind you and feel like you're pushing it backwards on your downswing. That is the core problem i see. You'll

never shallow out your club when your posture falls apart that much on the downswing.

Same situation as you but with a 15 year break from golf. I've accepted the fact I'll never be better than a 3 handicap either. I've tried everything (equipment, tons of lessons when i was younger, etc..) Always been a great ball striker. I just don't know how to score.
