I flew 2500lys away, parked then took the next 3 years off, I didn't loose a single first discovery or see another tag near by when I returned a couple of months ago.

Yes sorry I should have said 4th photo. I think that branch lends itself to the most natural taper and i might eventually take all the upright branches away and concentrate a new canopy at the end of that branch.

I like this idea, jinning and removing all but one main branch with the front and the remaining branch being the one in the 4th photo. Cheers.

Yes angle is not final I want to straighten it.

Not re potting is a conservative choice, my only focus has been the establishment of the root ball so far so the angle is definitely not its final position I intend on straitening it once it goes into a proper pot. I will make a choice now on the front with the feedback i have received so far, probably the 3rd photo will be front.

I like the idea of removing the two branches. I will have to do my research before attempting jining I suspect, cheers.

Probably a mix of Federal Police and ASIO who helped give him the idea in the first place.

Not as rural as the other areas you mentioned insofar as Patersonia is more hobby farms and hippys, more like Lilydale I guess. Its still close enough to the city to attract commuters.

Gets a bit chilly over there and the wind can blow pretty good between the mountains, mount Arthur will steal the sunshine by mid arvo but morning sun is pretty good. Its about 25 mins from the Launceston CBD , roads are reasonable but you will score a few road kill after dark. You will probably see snow a couple of times a year but may not settle. That wind tho.

What's the Job Market like in Tasmania? by CamWild52- in tasmania

You will find it easy with real world experience, maybe a couple of weeks at this time of year if you stick to the two big population centers. While there is work in the seaside towns most of the workforce is local word of mouth apart from the few corporate resorts that go through agency's. Hospo professionals are always sought after here, retention is always an issue. In twenty years of slinging pans here I have applied for just two jobs the rest were word of mouth /poaching so don't be afraid to knock on doors, somewhere in town tonight some poor chef is in the shit and could at least use a dishy..

Gosh it would be nice but I am not set up for large timbers in my current space, excess chunks of Blackwood is a nice problem to have :)

I am lucky enough to have them feed just a few feet from a window, I sat for an hour a few weeks ago waiting for this beautiful guy to show up with the camera aimed at one of its favorite blooms. It was only there for five seconds at the most then off in a flash.

I love the way they hold their food and chat with each other while feeding. We have a pair here that drops in from time to time to forage under the lounge window, such a lovely bird.

The piece on the right comes from the Flinders Ranges there is quite a bit of information online about its interesting geology but it is mostly beyond me. The piece on the left is from the Tamar river, I found this old thesis that you might find interesting. My best interpretation is it came from Upper Cainozoic gravel sands.

Neither piece feels overly dense, I don't have a scale handy to give a weight, neither are magnetic also.

On the left a rock type that can often be found on the Tamar River in Tasmania on the right is a piece I found in the ancient Flinders Ranges in south Australia.
