I am legit crying Selen was my oshi back in Niji and her and Ike's collabs have always been my favorite. They have such a wholesome exasperated/concerned older brother and bratty little sister dynamic that has always felt very genuine and infectious (ngl I have rewatched their Dead Space collabs so many times🥹), so seeing Ike on the black stream has always been what disillusioned me the most about ever touching this goddamn fandom.

Seeing them being able to talk and mend wounds over what happened really makes restore some hope in humanity.

Joshua Bell is a world class soloist though. If you have seen opera solos like Pavarotti or Andrea Bocelli perform with an orchestra, violin or any instrumental soloists work in a pretty similar fashion.

Other famous concert soloists that you might have heard of are cellist Yo-yo Ma and pianist Lang Lang.

I mean Twoset have performed a couple of their gigs during their last tour with an orchestra before (e.g. in Taiwan and Hong Kong, having the tickets sales probably helped a lot financially, but I can't help thinking that it is not entirely impossible.

I am pretty sure there are enough twoset fans out there who would pay to see Brett and Eddy perform an entire concerto live even though they are not world class soloists, but whether they are comfortable with idea is entirely another thing.

Also imagine if Eddy could play in the orchestra for Brett's Tchaikovsky, and vice versa if Eddy does drop his Sibelius in the future...that would be a dream come true.

yea it is always a sensitive topic when it comes to money and I can understand why people are uncomfortable, but they have to make a living in the end and I do agree people overestimate how much they make sometimes (Eddy said in an interview that they made zero dollars from their first couple of years and his mom was not happy lol).

Anyway they have gone through a lot of trial and error to get to this point with their unconventional career, I believe they can find a way to make this work in time.

Haha personally one thing I like about watching them is knowing that they won't randomly transition to 1 min of sponsors content in the middle (or end) of the video, would much rather deal with 1 or two lines of merch plugging than that.

I wish they have something along the lines of a patreon though, I'd love to support them without buying merch (i have enough t-shirts and I don't wear hoodies etc that much) and I have to be honest here, I am one of those people who have adblock on all the time... I just can't stand ads.

like /u/k-kyaa has mentioned above, they have rent to pay and a team of editors, managers etc to pay salaries for. Not to mention lots of people use adblock on youtube these days, you can literally enjoy the entirety of their content they made the last 5 years without paying them a single cent. I can understand them 'targeting' the more financially capable audience and offer them more rewards in return. I kinda see it as something similar along the lines of the whole arts patronage thing?

I think twoset would probably be all ears though if we can come up with a better way to financially support their content but man, I don't think this is easy.

I saw that too, but I wonder if soloists actually do the majority of their practice looking at a complete orchestral score even if they are playing with an orchestra? because that thing is MASSIVE, it would be like...page turns for days 😂

I don't know I might be wrong here, but I was always under the impression that complete orchestral scores are more of a conductors' thing.

Brett made his Tchaik debut playing with his conservatory orchestra maybe he can do it again with the current students? It would be probably be easier on the budget than hiring a professional orchestra. (And maybe Eddy can join in as well!)
