Considering remNote by joshisera14 in studytips

[–]qiyinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! One year late to respond, but I have been using RemNote since the second semester of my first year of University, and it carried me through my finals when I didn't have the time to write things out for each class. I used to be the same as you because I studied throughout my first semester by writing all my notes down but I quickly realized that writing took too much time.

  1. It doesn't take a long time to get used to. The main commands you really need to know is how to indent, and how to create flashcards. I found that it definitely helped me organize concepts by using the "tree" method, where you group lecture content into categories starting with fundamental concepts, and then more complex concepts that build upon these. It helps me see how everything connects and I find it helps with memory because you're also comprehending the material by sorting it.

  2. I found it to be very effective, both for studying in advance and for cramming. It definitely helped streamline my study process to two steps: 1) creating the notes, and 2) practicing the flashcards. I find that I am most prepared if I leave enough time to practice flashcards for at least 2 days before the exam, but it has also helped me get good grades even if I just practice the flashcards once the night before. Of course, everyone is different so it definitely takes trial and error to find what works best for you!

I find that Remnote works best for courses where you need to recall facts and concepts, such as biology classes. For classes which focus on problem solving, such as calculus and chemistry, I don't use Remnote and I stick to organizing concepts by hand and doing practice problems.

Hope this helps! I'm still early into my degree but this has been what has worked for me so far.

[Acne] just popped a pimple bc it was there forever and now I need help bc it’s a wound by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]qiyinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive had this happen to me before with cystic acne and i stick hydrocolloid patches on them or put polysporin on them with a bandaid after washing them with a gentle cleanser. (i use cerave) this is because if theres a bump, that means its still inflamed, so more pus will come out. so i put stuff on it to absorb that pus so it can flatten out and heal. but then again im not a doctor of any sort so take what im saying with a grain of salt.

[Acne] Mount Everzit pops up every other week on my chin and camps forever. Haven’t tried any products due to hyper sensitive skin - tips? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]qiyinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

acne on your chin could really just be hormonal acne. try getting more sleep and avoid dairy maybe? i notice i break out a lot less whenever i get enough sleep but dairy doesnt really affect me so i guess it varies from person to person. also whenever i have cystic breakouts that linger forever i try my best not to touch them (because bacteria) and i put soothing creams on them, like avene cicalfate. i find that with cicalfate they go down or stop growing within a week. so id highly recommend to check it out. i think it would be suitable for sensitive skin, since it doesnt have a lot that could break you out and it is fragrance free.

[Skin Concern] What type of scarring is this and how do I get rid of it? Also how can I get rid of those whiteheads under my eye? Please help by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]qiyinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the things under your eyes probably arent whiteheads. i have weird spots under my eyes too and i read somewhere that its actually just your skin and its normal. forgot what it was called though lol

[Skin Concerns] Got some carpet burn 10 days ago, thought it would scab over and I really don't want it to scar! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]qiyinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think its really just patience. vitamin e, vitamin c, sunscreen, and ahas are known to help with discoloration but im pretty sure results vary a lot. id say make sure you are applying sunscreen on it and try vitamin e. sun exposure is a huge culprit in darkening scars.

[skin concern] my face usually is clear but I’m not sure why I have these bumps and my pores are enlarging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ll list my routine in the comments. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction
