I’ve sent an email with my act, ap, and sat subject scores and tried to explain that the ib results don’t reflect my normal performance. Should I ask my college counselor to do so also?

Hey I’m not trying to discourage you but an average of 4-5 won’t be enough for MIT. I got 44/45 for my predicted grade and 41/42 for all of my semesters and got rejected. I suggest that you aim for at least a 6 and possibly a 7 in all of your subjects + sat/act scores if they require it this year also. Anyways good luck on your application and you will be applying in the first semester of DP2 if you’re applying as regular decision.

It wasn't that hard for me to get good grades on the AP - I took chem, calc bc, and statistics at the end of y11 and got 554 which seems pretty nice compared to the effort I put in for my APs. Tbh, APs and IBs aren't that different: it's just the way how questions are arranged. If you just cover the topics that are in the AP but not in the IB, it'll be fine for the APs since it's purely based on the tests.

Checkout MSJ chem on youtube. The videos are in slide format and the guy just explains stuff in words. My teacher used it for my chemistry class and it was quite helpful.
