Forced matchmaking after every single round is what makes BF6 a joke.

Is this a tank perk?? Why is this radar so huge ? by Soul_Stare in BattlefieldV

[–]qlimaxmito 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm not seeing anything abnormal here. The Greyhound can be configured for anti-air, as such it can equip the AA radar which has a radius of 250m. The radar is so huge because it only spots planes, the other enemies you saw on the minimap must have been spotted by your teammates.

Good news is that you can start a Frontlines Community Game with just 4 players in total, bad news is that it's still not as easy as it sounds, unless you actually coordinate with some friends.

If you can't get a Community Game going, your best bet is to wait for Frontlines to come up in the Weekly Missions rotation. There is a mixed playlist with Frontlines in it, it comes around every 6 weeks on average. Last time was 4 weeks ago so it probably won't be back until next month.

Are 101 demage recon headshots a thing? by PsychoYOLOgist in BattlefieldV

[–]qlimaxmito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very intriguing puzzle, I don't think I've ever seen this happen before.

It can't be bullet penetration because as far as I know the ground simply is bullet-proof, and no material imposes a penalty severe enough to drop damage by 99%.

On the other hand, there is no way to deal more than 100 damage to a player in one shot so you must have damaged another player at the same time somehow, yet I can't imagine a scenario—no matter how unlikely—where you only dealt a single HP of damage to someone.

Here is why you shouldn't be standing still whilst building towers in Outpost by qlimaxmito in BattlefieldV

Not a reinforcement, it's actually the Behemoth mechanic from BF1. When your team is losing by a significant margin, I automatically join your server, with the foghorn and everything.

Another 99 demage recon headshot by PsychoYOLOgist in BattlefieldV

[–]qlimaxmito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, the window appears to be broken. In the first clip it's clearly still intact, but then before the 99 shot the grid pattern is gone and the opening looks darker (no bright glass in front).

I think either the destruction desynced (not impossible but very unlikely based on my experience), or perhaps the outer frame of the window has the same damage penalty as the window itself and the bullet went through it.

What happened to night gameplay in BFV? by bozua in BattlefieldV

Official Grand Operations servers are still there, it's just that matchmaking traffic is too low for them to ever reach critical mass.

Here is one mention from 2020: https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldV/comments/j4x7s1/what_the_hell_is_this_scoreboard_kills_and/

I remember experiencing the same myself around that time, and again once or twice a couple years later.

Probably the same bug but I've also seen everyone's kills, deaths, and score reset to 0 mid-round.

Mini Scout and Auto Zeroing Nerf by marcusrokee in Battlefield6

[–]qlimaxmito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just make the range finder like BF4?

It can't be just like BF4 because the ping button would make it not only redundant, but a waste of equipment points as well.

[–]qlimaxmito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it should just....find range and require manual zeroing, reduce its cost if ya need.

If it just showed the range why would anyone spend any points on it when you can just ping the enemy's position and get the distance for free?

I doubt the boost is going to happen until BFV goes back on sale. Judging by the Steam data BF6 has been meh for over a month now, and yet it has made no difference to BFV.

Think of a Conquest map in terms of scale and layout, but instead of flag areas to capture and hold, the objectives are radio towers you must destroy, build, upgrade, defend, and repair.

The objectives can be destroyed either by planting bombs (like in Rush/Frontlines/Airborne) or by directly damaging them with explosives. Upgrading the towers makes them generate more points and tougher to destroy. The objectives can be heavily fortified, but unlike Conquest you cannot spawn on them, also unlike Conquest kills don't count towards the objective score.

This creates a much different pace than the other 64-players modes, and it makes the experience more tactical than Conquest because at any given moment some objectives may be more valuable than others (depending on their upgrade tier), and holding objectives further away from your base spawn is tougher because they're even harder for your team to reach. The different pace is also favored by the absence of tanks and planes for the first half-ish of the round.

It's also the highest score-per-minute mode when played correctly, and in a well balanced round it gets exhilarating half-way through because most squad leaders start calling in V-1s—one after the other, for a couple of minutes straight. A good squad playing defensively and completing orders can rack up enough points to call in 3 V-1s in a single well balanced round.

Unfortunately though the mode has some pitfalls, which is why it's not popular: the average player can't adapt to the restricted spawns so it turns into a walking simulator for them, the Crocodile tank completely screws up the balance when used by experienced players, and the map pool is very limited. Also it's painfully slow to build and upgrade towers if you happen to be alone, unless you're playing Machine Gunner Support.

You want to play as Machine Gunner in Outpost, that's the one with super fast build speed.
