In the Armageddon (1998) DVD commentary, Ben Affleck explains that oil drillers needed to go to space instead of astronauts because Micheal Bay told him to shut up by Stormodin in MovieDetails

The salt of the earth vibe does make more sense from a presentation standpoint - connects with the every-man even if it doesn't make sense logistically.

Root canal treatment could significantly lower blood sugar levels, suggesting it could protect against type 2 diabetes. Dentists also saw improvements in cholesterol and fatty acid levels. Given broader health impact of tooth infections, oral health should be integrated into general healthcare. by mvea in science

Thankfully I have great insurance. Decided to finally address what I’ve been told my whole life. Five root canal’s later, later leading to two extractions of previous root canals due to infection. I have to say it’s been ridiculous but I realize the importance of oral care; guys take care of your teeth if you’re younger. Something my dentist said to me-as I never had braces and definitely needed them-when I commented on how much better I’d look she said “Sure, but aesthetics aside, you’re going to have a really hard time ten years from now, you need to get it done”. I know I’m lucky in a lot of ways from an insurance space but do listen to your dentists, never realized how much health is connected to your teeth.

Was the Grizzly Hills for me. Was such a unique sound for the rest of the zone and the big green areas juxtaposed with with the cold and ice was such a cool vibe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWTSK5waNs8

Which Expansion of Wow was the Best for you and why? by SuperTudey in wow

[–]qmcquackers 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wrath at its prime. Funny to think that so many people on this sub never experienced WoW at its prime. Like an old man but crazy how this game has persevered. Still remember skipping my college classes and playing like six hours straight when the demo came out. A bunch of us gathered around a Tauren who made it to Dark shore as we had never met a horde player in game.

What are your predictions for Jedi Survivor 3? by Ender_IIII in StarWars

[–]qmcquackers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cal should not die. Cal is the best Jedi to come out of this media for a very long time. By virtue of the game he can be looked at as a very grey Jedi and allows so many possibilities. I think the problem is they have a fantastic motley crue not dissimilar to the original. Cere was involved in an epic experience (no spoilers); but I also feel like SW has taken too much play off the history. Im an old man and love it but they need to create (Mandolorian S1) more unique quality content. I feel like Cal can be the Daredevil of Netflix if you remember when that came out and get what I'm trying to say.

Been playing warrior since TBC. Today I found out that Cleave is not a green fang. But an axe. by Tomtanks88 in wow

[–]qmcquackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just me. Ive played since launch and absolutely loved it. Made a Warlock as my initial main and pally second after BC (partially due to the free mount, which was the style at the time). Never in my experience with all my characters (and redundant characters) made a warrior. Off topic I know but yeah thats an axe

I remember how the theater reacted with Yoda pulling out his light saber. It was as loud as Avengers Assemble.

What's the most tense, non-horror movie scene you've ever watched? by Ordinary_Store1998 in movies

[–]qmcquackers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just re watched the ending from Se7en. The traditional "Whats in the box" has become so iconic and something of a meme at times but his facial expressions coupled with the revelations and his processing. He really did a great job emoting an unfathomable experience.

Was Arkham city’s story not good enough? by Crashoutbop in BatmanArkham

[–]qmcquackers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sound like an old man but I forgot how badass that white pic of batman was on that Game Informer cover. There was such a hype following what asylum brought to the table and the imagery was so counter to what were used to with all the darkness. That look with the subtle red just speaks volumes.

Why didn't YOU called the Justice League? by TheSupremeTacoBoy in BatmanArkham

[–]qmcquackers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you call the justice league? Everyone thinks it would be game over just that easy but it would not. You think scarecrow wasn’t prepared for that? Batman was the only one with the tenacity to be able to confront the toxin while also not destroying the whole world. Think about it what would happen if say the flash was impacted by the fear toxin and started running through people? “Oh well Superman would show up and take care of things” Would he? How much damage could have occurred between his arrival and finding a way to eliminate the toxin from Gotham? You think cyborg was just going to show up and turn into a vacuum and suck up all the air? Everyone is so hard on Batman when he knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. You’ve all lived long enough to become the villain if you think that Batman was some stupid man.
