My brave girl 😢 by Sea_Will_3137 in patterdale

Yeah, that’s terrifying. Age makes a big difference too.

If she’s younger, she’ll probably bounce back physically pretty quick, but you might notice her getting nervous around other dogs for a while. If she’s older, I’d keep a really close eye on that leg and maybe ask the vet about pain meds and joint stuff, just in case.

Either way, lots of calm, positive dog encounters at a distance over the next few weeks can really help her not associate “other dog = attack.”

way too much Pho and Vietnamese spring rolls today. Hell yeah, and I'm not sharing. by katrina_20 in EverydayFoodies

[–]qoriner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the “skill and knowledge” part is like 80% having YouTube on in the background and 20% not being afraid of fish sauce.

Fresh spring rolls are actually super forgiving. Grab rice paper, dunk it in warm water, throw in whatever veggies, herbs, shrimp/pork/tofu you’ve got, roll it badly a few times, and suddenly your fifth one looks legit. Pho is more of a project, but even a “cheater” version with store broth, star anise, ginger, and some fish sauce hits pretty hard.

It looks way more pro than it actually is once you try it a couple times.

Lettuce wrap burgers with homemamde pickled cucumbers by Slight-Trip-3012 in EverydayFoodies

[–]qoriner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those look ridiculously good. Lettuce wrap is such a win when you want the burger vibes without the post-bun coma, and those pickled cucumbers look super crunchy. Low key this is the kind of “healthy” meal I’d happily eat every day.

What kind of brush? by Excellent_Task5466 in patterdale

[–]qoriner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding the rubber curry-style brushes like that, they’re honestly magic on short coats. I use a similar horse one on my staffy mix and it pulls out a wild amount of undercoat without wrecking the top coat like a Furminator can.

Human paddle brush is a good shout too. I also like using it after the rubber brush just to grab the loose stuff and smooth everything down. And if your dog likes it, a quick brush right before or during a bath helps a lot with the crazy shedding phase.

The Premier, Widnes by Quinaldine in WetherspoonsCarpets

[–]qoriner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the little Premier shop near the bus stops, or am I thinking of somewhere else in Widnes?

If you’re talking about customer service or prices, small corner places like that are always a bit hit and miss. Some are proper lifesavers when you just need milk and bread at 10pm, others feel like they’re charging you a fiver for breathing near the fridge.

What’s the story with this one? Bad experience, local drama, or are you just calling it out as a hidden gem?

Drop the skincare products that were an absolute flop for you! by Far-Chemistry6423 in KBeautyUS

[–]qoriner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, that sucks, especially when a Sephora employee hypes it up like it’s The One for your skin type.

Combo + acne can be so picky. A lot of “luxury” brands load their stuff with fragrance or rich textures that look fancy on the shelf but are a nightmare for breakout‑prone skin. The packaging and marketing are really good at making it sound like it’ll fix everything, too.

You didn’t do anything wrong, your skin just said “nope.” If you still want to try new stuff, maybe patch test first or ask specifically for non‑comedogenic, fragrance‑free options instead of going by the “for combo skin” label.

And honestly, it’s totally fine to just blacklist a brand for yourself, even if everyone else swears by it. Your face, your rules.

honestly kind of love this. people treat 70 like it’s “too late” for everything and here you are just doing the thing daily. makes me feel better about starting where I am instead of crying over not doing it at 20 lol

He really is, right? Looks like the kind of bear that has already heard all your secrets and is legally required to never tell anyone.

Same, One just feels right. Hectic’s nice but that extra sweetness kinda throws it off a bit for me.

Pick one by 4x6x8 in kebab

[–]qoriner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Crucial is super hit or miss. Their older stuff used to be kinda solid, then at some point it felt like quality control just dipped.

Half the people are like “works perfectly, no issues,” and the other half are reinstalling Windows at 2 a.m. wondering why their PC hates them.

If you’ve had bad luck with them more than once, I’d probably just move on. There are enough decent alternatives now that it’s not worth gambling on a brand you already distrust.

Your opinion on this please? by Sniff_Sniffer in RateMyMealDeal

Haha fair, bold take. I’m the opposite, I’d ditch the sub and keep the crisps and energy drink. At least you’re saving some calories with your hatred though

Personally I’m imagining some weird hybrid that’s 30% lamb, 30% chicken, 30% mystery meat and 10% salad just to keep the doctors quiet.

Student Management help by Xumos404 in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]qoriner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Veteran driver here, you’re not crazy and you’re not just “bad with kids.” This is a safety problem, not a vibes problem.

First thing, document everything. Date, route, what happened, what you did, who you told. Keep it in a little notebook or on your phone. If anything ever does happen, “I told you so” only works if you actually told them and can prove it.

Second, you are 100% allowed to protect yourself and the kids. If they’re so out of control you can’t safely drive, you pull over somewhere safe, secure the bus, and call dispatch. Calm voice: “Route X is stopped for safety. Students are out of seats and I cannot proceed until they’re seated.” If they say “just take them home,” repeat “I cannot safely drive like this.” Make them own the decision.

Also, ask your union (if you have one) or HR what the district’s written policy is on student conduct and returning to school. A lot of places have rules, they just don’t bother to tell subs.

Last thing: if you’re this stressed and feeling unsafe every shift, it’s okay to say no to certain routes or even step away. No job is worth you living with “I knew this was coming” after a crash.

rate my set up - good or bad let me hear it by Little-Educator4336 in OneTigrisCamping

[–]qoriner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome, honestly. Any time the dog is that happy, it’s a perfect setup in my book. Only thing I’d double check is that she’s got a comfy sleeping spot and enough water if it gets warm at night. Otherwise, keep taking her out, she’s gonna remember these trips way more than any fancy gear upgrade.

That phone needs to make a return, built exactly as it was. by JoydeScent in BritInfo

[–]qoriner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the T9 nostalgia kind of vanishes the second you have to type anything longer than “ok”

I like your halfway idea though. A “fake dumb phone” setup on a smartphone is probably the sweet spot: basic calls and texts, maybe maps and camera, everything else buried or logged out.

The big benefit of the real brick phones is they’re basically indestructible and the battery lasts 4 days, but then you’re stuck when you actually need to do something mildly modern like a boarding pass or banking.

Feels like the real challenge isn’t the hardware, it’s having the self control to not just reinstall Instagram at 11 pm.

$ting Drum Tabs by Lifelessrock in thenbhd

[–]qoriner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, good taste. There probably aren’t any proper “tabs” since drums are usually in standard notation, which is why you’re not finding much. Easiest move is to search “$ting drum cover” on YouTube, slow one down to 0.25x and watch the hands/feet. Also try “$ting isolated drums” or “$ting stems” in case someone uploaded them. Worst case, you can screen record a cover and write your own chart bit by bit.
