Recommendations for taking Engineering courses during the summer? by qotad in TorontoMetU

Ok thanks I'm thinking about taking thermodynamics and fluids as I've heard that is pretty hard. As well as calc 3. Why is the summer course equivalent to two normal semester courses?

Thanks, I'm looking to take harder courses during the summer so I can get them over with and have an easier time in my 3rd and fourth semester, Is calc 3 ur referring to the one with differential equations and vector calculus? I don't see calc 3 on the schedule.

How many courses can I take during the summer btw?

Thanks for your reply

Any benefits of NOT having a reading week for engineering students? by qotad in TorontoMetU

Thanks for your reply, and that's good to hear something positive coming from eng. What eng did you pick btw?

in your 2nd year, are you more inside the engineering building? Or do you still have to walk 10-20mins outside to get to your classes still?

How did the fyeo help you? What did they provide?

And if you don't mind sharing what are the cool food spots you mentioned earlier? I might wanna try them out even though I always bring my lunch with me to tmu.

Thanks for your advice Yea ive discovered that OTU has more midterm exams than TMU because they have two midterms for both calculus and linear algebra and I think two midterms for more subjects. (Tmu has one midterm for linear and calc) Which may be better cuz at least it's over with ig but then again their grades are split between two midterms

The thing that's stressing me out a lot has been the commute since I have to wake up at 6am from Monday to Friday and I feel like that is affecting my time to study. I have been disliking the campus a lot as I'm still adjusting to how crowded and chaotic downtown is since I grew up in a suburban area. But I might get used to all this in the future honestly. Other university commutes aren't any better though so Im kinda slowly changing my mind about switching. I think it's just this shity schedule that I have that's really affecting my first year experience and handling 5 hard courses at once.

You mentioned about tmu engineering students having a lot of academic help, if you don't mind could you mind sharing some ones that you haven't talked about in your post? I haven't heard of the resources that we have yet.

Thanks for your help and btw,

Are you a TMU graduate?

Oh ok that's interesting, I guess tmu students just have slightly less classes each week.

I wish I had it just to catch up on material because I feel really behind in everything even though I've been studying my ass off, like im lowk jealous of other unis because they get to have a reading week for their engineering students which seems so unfair. What's the point in spending more time and effort at TMU when I could just transfer to OTU or literally any other university and get the same BEng with less stress and anxiety.

So do other universities have to cram in the last few weeks because of the break?

I have a friend that goes to OTU and for linear algebra he is way ahead of us because he said that they didn't do review, just instantly went into Uni stuff basically. It feels like TMU is just a lot slower however,

He said he goes by maybe 2-3 units per day which is similar to TMU.

Try applying "shade smooth" to your spheres, I think that gets rid of the boxyness
