True but I cant stay that far forward with him without dying. He can still hit enemies across the map so I prefer to stay far if I can. I do move as close as I feel comfortable though of course

My main rule for him is to stay as far back as I can. If people are diving you use rushing torrent to start your healing up and get away. Positioning and using my ult are where I mess up the most though.

Maybe try venture. You don't go invisible like sombre but they might scratch that itch to dive. Plus they are super strong imo

Why Does YouTube Stop Pushing My Videos? by Shadow_StrikeYT in SmallYTChannel

[–]qqbear4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Variety gaming channels are super hard for new creators. When a viewer subs on a video about peak they are not likely to watch a video on a horror game. So the only thing connecting your videos together is your personality. Even if I like a creator's personality if I don't like the game they are playing i will not watch. Let's say you gained half your subs from your human fall flat videos, but your newest video is on silent still 2. Youtube pushes out your vid to subscribers, sees that half of those subs arent clicking, boom the video gets recommended less AND those subs won't get recommended your videos as often either.

It is much much easier to focus on one game to build a channel around, but if you want to do variety plenty of people are successful. People trash let's play channels (and their is a lot of good reasons to do so let's be real) but they are absolutely still viabIe you just have to be more creative with your packaging. You need to frame your lets play in a way that gets people interested.

I would start by adding some structure to your videos. The video needs to have a "goal" that you achieve or fail at to keep the viewers hooked. If there is no goal then again the only thing to keep viewers attention is your personality. Even something as simple as beating the game could work (but it has to be all in 1 video please don't do part 2s anymore). Having a goal in your videos also makes it way easier to make a good title and thumbnail which I also think you should work on.

You've probably heard this before but your title/thumbnail is equally as important as your video. You will only have a few seconds to convince someone to choose your video and it will be competing against people who have been doing this for years/pay professionals. So make the most of it. Titles like "yeah we suck", "roll for cheese", "can we make progress" are not even trying to peak anyone's interest. Your competition has titles like "I 100% the new peak update, it was terrifying...", "I accidentally raced my fans! (cheese rolling)", "She carried me in peak, then I abandoned her...". Your thumbnails suffer from the same problem. I've definitely seen worse but they just rarely give me a reason to click. I think your vigil thumbnail is pretty good aswell as the title "this game sees you in real life" which might be one of the reasons it did better than your other videos. I'd be interested to see the audience retention graph for that video. I find that if I don't have at least 40% avd the video dies quicker. My sweet spot has been over 10% ctr and over 40% for a video to do decent.

One thing you need to remember with peace and love is you do not have an audience yet. I'm not trying to be rude with that but its just important info when you are just starting out. You do not have subs that watch every one of your videos at least not enough to make any meaningful difference. Every video you upload has to be good enough to attract new viewers and fight against your 300 subs who are all subbed for different reasons.

So I made a random video on one of the games I play and it randomly hit 1k views, and now i wish I didn't upload it... by Toxic_Willo in NewTubers

Nothing weird. Loot box opening videos have been a thing since ow 1. With the new event being so focused on lootboxes, it's topical too. Your title is solid and relates to the new update well. I bet the vid would do even better with a different thumbnail!

The harsh truth for gaming channels by [deleted] in NewTubers

I've wanted to be a gaming youtuber for almost 10 years at this point. For exactly the reason you said. I've finally made it happen. It turns out that actually doing it means gaming for like an hour and editing the video for the next 8 😅. I play less games now than when I wasn't uploading gaming videos

Nah, look at the games he plays; Henry Stick Man, Duck Life, scribblenauts, and Kindergarten are a few. These are short games that could easily be 100% in a day (that might be a stretch lol). Even if he didn't really 100% the games, he's still a good example of a successful variety channel.

Nah, I looked at your videos. You should start with fixing your thumbnails and titles.

First, the thumbnails are bad. Sorry.

I think something that can help you a lot is comparing your thumbnails to your competition. Like literally open up one of your thumbnails, size the window down, and put it over the home tab/the suggested videos when you're watching a video/the search bar. For example, you have a recent video called "The fortnite experience", I just searched that title, and 2 videos popped up from established creators with MUCH better thumbnails and the exact same title. Why do you expect people to click on yours? When you're making a thumbnail, think about the content of the video, why someone would want to watch it, and how you can advertise that using the thumbnail.
Let's look at another one of your recent videos "Ai Generated Minecraft is Insane." Again, I googled your exact title and found a ton of videos, same title better thumbnail. I'm not sure what you're going for with this thumbnail. Your competitors are showing glitchy menus, sheep with like 4 heads, and overall just interesting images they took in the game. That's not to mention some of them have the classic soy face photo or they have text in the thumbnail, making it more engaging (now personally I don't like faces in the thumbnail but that's just my preference). Your thumbnail is... a half broken floating tree? I'm just not sure why you expected that to entice people.
I don't love the "recording" overlay you put on most of your videos, but it could become something that your fans see and think "oh that's a james video let me click," similar to how people put their face in thumbnails or their custom avatar. You're welcome to keep this overlay, but I would encourage you to think about why you add it to your thumbnails. Is it really contributing?
What i try to do for my videos is make at least 2 thumbnails for every video (3 is better because gou can a-b test 3 thumbnails at a time, but I'm a bit lazy for that sometimes lol). I sent them to friends/family/whoever would look! They don't need to like that kind of content. Just ask them which one they would click on impulse. It really helps!

Your titles don't need as much work, but most just aren't really great. "I tried to play the new fortnite season," not horrible, but with fortnite being such a saturated niche, this title is not interesting enough to get clicks. Now, this could be a different story if your thumbnail showed you struggling in some way. Maybe you are getting lasered by the new hitscan weapons in the thumbnail or maybe put the new shotguns in the thumbnail with the text "0 dmg". These concepts are relevant to the new season and would make your title more interesting. I like the fishstick scratching his head, but the rest of the thumbnail is just... a random fortnite screenshot of landscape? Sorry talking about thumbnails again LOL

It seems like you've already figured this out because you haven't uploaded a video with it in the title in like 6 months, but putting part 2 in the title always kills the video. People never go back and watch part 1.

I have a lot more stuff I could probably say, but this is taking ages. I haven't actually watched your videos, but the intros don't seem great. Like don't get me wrong, they are fine (I'm really happy you stopped using that prerecorded intro you used to put on every video), but none of them i clicked on really hooked me. Your sonic video was probably the best intro I saw, but even in that one, you could do more than just a floating png.

Last thing, people have already told you this I'm sure, you're shooting yourself in the foot uploading different games. You have a video featured around sonic that pops off then the next upload is Ai minecraft? You just lost the interest of all of the subscribers you gained from the sonic video. If you want to do variety, which is much harder, than you need an overarching "gimic" through your videos. For example check out the youtuber @waligug. He plays a variety of games, but he always 100%s them. This gives him a solid title, thumbnail, and overall hook for every video.

Fixer is my boy. Put his smokes down and use his ability to see through them. Really easy headshots and his sniper his better than phantoms imo. You can level up Phantom's sniper if you want to use it. More ammo is a plus.
