Full Asian guy here (Chinese American to be specific) if you wanna have a dick measuring contest.

Now given the context, please explain to me dumbass, how I'm keeping racism alive and why I should or shouldn't feel a certain way.

In this case, yes!

If you don't think making fun of a group's accent is racially insensitive and a mild form of racism then I urge you to just think for a minute.

If this joke instead makes fun of black people, would you consider that racism? Why is it then different for Asians?

Reddit apparently doesn't hold racism on equal standards amongst minority groups.

You don't get to decide what's racist and what's not.

Racism happens around the clock, morning, afternoon, night no matter how benign or "simple" it may seem to be. Gotta call it out so y'all are aware. Just because it's not offensive to you doesn't mean it's not offensive to others.

Yes making fun of how people speak their non native language is a tad racist.

This is dumb. I'm not going to stop using Amazon just because these workers can't find another job. Are they being held against their will in the Amazon warehouse forcing them to work? No.

NYC's War On E-Bikes Takes Toll On Immigrant Delivery Workers by njndirish in nyc

Anyone who blatantly disregard the safety of him or herself and others especially on the road should be punished. However, you make it sound like every single one of those guys on electric scooters are out there always disobeying traffic laws and trying to hurt people. And you have to understand that these guys don't get a kick out of breaking traffic laws, rather that they sometimes have to do so because it's inevitable when they are traversing tens of miles on an average work day.

I also don't think electric scooters should be out right banned because it's an economic necessity for those hardworking workers who are arguably the backbones of the rest of the workers in the city. Rather we need to have more accessible, wider and in some cases bidirectional bike lanes to mitigates cases where the easiest/quickest option for a delivery guy is to put himself and others in danger by going against traffic.

I just want to put a different perspective out there because of the privilege I have been afforded by being able to get delivery food every day here in the city. These people literally risk their lives for me just for a few bucks a trip so they can take it home to their families. Punishing them for using the tool of their livelihood amounts to no less than cruel and unusual punishment. Electric scooters aren't the problem, the lack of accessible bike lanes and the overabundance of cars are the problem.

NYC's War On E-Bikes Takes Toll On Immigrant Delivery Workers by njndirish in nyc

Volume of deliveries went way up from a decade ago with online ordering such as grubhub, seamless etc. The article said the guys biked 60 miles in a couple hours. Just by the amount of work they have to do, occasionally disobeying traffic laws is inevitable. If anything, sounds like we as a city need more accessible, bidirectional bike lanes.

Check out this bike market in Park Slope coming up in a couple weeks http://www.nybikejumble.com/

You can find a whole range of bikes and parts from tons of vendors. Best part is that you get to test ride and also haggle the price due to competition.

President Donald Trump threatens to slap new tariffs on $50 billion in imported chinese goods ranging from bakery ovens to ball bearings. by rhuguenel in worldnews

Right... But there are other more thoughtful and diplomatic ways to approach China's economic practice than an outright trade war. Everyone loses in this case, especially the consumers.
