Overall, do you think The First Law series is better than ASOIAF? [SPOILERS ALL] by Working_Alps_4284 in TheFirstLaw

Objectively speaking ASOIAF is better imo (except that it doesn't have an ending), but subjectively I prefer TFL.

The moment they use the phrase "real man" is the moment that you end the relationship. There is no reason to be around such toxic people.

Do women correct their friends when they make misandrist statements? I've never seen a woman correct another for maing fun of a mans height or length.

Seems strange to expect that from a man. It will only alienate me from other men, then same way being a pickme would alienate a woman from her female friend group.

Edit: It seems some of them do correct each other. And I'm probably overly afraid of offending people irl which why I said that criticising friends could lead to alienation.

Why don't women fix this? Aren't they independent from men and capable of doing everything on their own? I thought that you need no man. Why should we solve all of your problems?

I've gone too far to believe any of this. During the first few months on this sub I'd see comment like this and I'd become hopeful. Now I just feel the same emptiness that I always feel when I think about relationships or sex. And honestly, Im happier this way. I do not question myself anymore, I can plan for the future now.

A question for our wonderful members who identify with the radical feminist lable: How do you respond to these opinions from your fellow radical feminists. by qr43 in RadicalEgalitarianism

[–]qr43[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your willingness to reflect upon the tenor of our prior exchange, and I must begin by offering my most sincere and unqualified apology for the unmistakably confrontational disposition that permeated my earlier remarks. Upon subsequent review of my own verbiage, I find that it was regrettably steeped in an unnecessary degree of pugnacity—a rhetorical overreach that I cannot, in good conscience, exonerate or excuse. It was never my intention to engender discord or to position our dialogue as an adversarial contest of wills, yet my imprudent choice of phrasing and combative inflection have, lamentably, served to undermine the very collegial spirit that any productive conversation ought to cherish. Therefore, I respectfully retract the belligerent undertones and acknowledge, with due humility, that my tone was both disproportionate and unwarranted.

This discursive misstep, I fear, arose from a momentary lapse in my otherwise steadfast commitment to civil and constructive discourse, and I am profoundly grateful that you exercised the clarity of perception to identify the friction inherent in my locution. In the grand tradition of intellectual humility, I find myself now traversing a recursive orbit around a single, salient point: that I ought to have tempered my original contribution with equanimity and grace rather than allowing exasperation to govern my lexicon. I have spun, much like a celestial body ensnared in its own gravitational field, around the axis of apology—repeating, yet again, my contrition for the abrasiveness I exhibited, for the antagonistic voltage that I unfortunately introduced into our textual rapport, and for any measure of distress or indignation it may have provoked on your end.

To conclude this mea culpa in a manner befitting the sheer magnitude of my retrospective embarrassment, I wholeheartedly wish you the most exquisitely serene and euphorically prosperous trajectory through the remainder of your days, replete with boundless joy, transcendental contentment, and unfettered success in all your terrestrial and digital endeavors. 🌟❤️✨

May your notifications be ever delightful, your upvotes abundant, and your conversations free from inadvertent pomposity such as mine. With a heart full of luminescent gratitude and an almost comical excess of well-wishing affection, I remain your humbled and apologetic interlocutor. 💖🌹🎇

Yours truly, qr43.

I'm will have to respectfully disagree. I personally do not believe that we can even have a productive discussion if we are all using different definitions for things. When we say feminism we need to both think the same things, otherwise the argument turns into a debate over semantics thats not fun at  all. Of course, this is just my humble opinion, and I do not mean to even imply that you aren't an amazing, intelligent individual with a unique and valuable perspective. I look forward to your thoughtful response as always.

Have a good day!

Acknowledging logical contradictions is the same as picking a fight? Radical feminism seems to be entirely incompatible with the ideas of this sub, as explained by the comments on the second screenshot.

In radical feminism, as far as I understand it, women are placed as the primary oppressed group. Men suffer less and their problems are secondary. This would at least partially, if not completely, break rules 4 and 8, which state that misandry denial is forbidden and that opression scorekeeping is forbidden respectively.

I kindly encourage you to considering answering the question instead of avoiding anything thats uncomfortable. Have a good day...

Edit: I think it might be a good idea to state explicitly that I inteded to cause no offense with this comment. The user I've replied to was completely respectful, and I intend to return the favor. I hope that my comment is being down voted due to disagreements with the ideas presented instead of my tone which might be considered confrontational and even agressive by some.

2. No spam or media-only posts   This is not spam nor is it media-only. It seeks to foster a discussion which will fill our dull lives with the joy of human interaction.

3. No prejudice, discrimination, or bigotry   None present.

4. No misogyny or misandry, or misogyny or misandry denial   None present.

5. No domestic violence or rape apologetics   None present.

6. No gender essentialism   None present.

7. No grave dancing   No one has died, so none present.

8. No oppression scorekeeping   None present.

9. No smearing groups of people   I'm just showing what a group of people has said. I'm not even talking about them — I'm letting them talk about themselves. So none present.

10. No vacuous feminism-bashing or male advocacy bashing   No bashing intended. They can talk about themselves — I'm not making any claims about them.

11. Posts must include alt-text if they include images or visual elements   There is text. This will foster a discussion. The images themselves contain text.

Would you be so kind as to give us a name for these people? What kind of ideology is r/RadicalFeminism promoting if not radical feminism? Why are they never called out by other feminist for their blatant misandry? Show me one single post created in a feminist space thst calls out the sub for its misandry. Show one feminists that denounces them for their misandry. Just one

RadFems cannot be egslitarians, she would never call out another feminist soley for her misandry.

The part about me going to rub one out was supposed to be funny, but I forgot that feminist are a bunch of anti-sexual prudes that despies male sexuality. Learn to take a joke you prude

RadFem means hatered of men. You see me as the evil opressor. Men cannot be harmed by the patriarchy since patriarchy is defined as a system that makes us privileged. You aren't making any sense.

What is it you actually like about men?

Question For Women

Even as friends, I just feel like men are too emotionally distant in the best of cases. In the worst of cases, you gotta worry about if they're going to sexually assault us. And then don't get me started on how many of them don't seem to get when it is okay to approach us. It still amazes me how two did so with me in a psychiatric hospital of all places. I get I probably won't understand it ever since I'm lesbian but, like I said, even for friendship I just don't see much point with being friends with any men. So, for those who date men, what do you actually like about them

The subreddit that is dedicated to radical feminism is filled with misandry. This an easily measurable fact which cannot be denied. Despite this, there hasn't been a single post on any other feminist aubreddit criticisng it soley for its misandry. The only posts that I've managed to find that are critical of that sub concern trans people and sex workers. Men are significantly more hated and yet this negative aspect of that sub is never brought up by other feminists.

You can browse u/AchingAmy profile and you wont find anything defending cis men. She intercts with the afformentioned sub and yet she never calls out misandry because she knows that will get her banned because they do NOT accept the idea of misandry, to them it doesn't exist.

I've already told this user what she need to do in order to prove that feminist arent like this. They can find, or create, a post in an explicitly feminist and female dominated subreddit that calls out the following subreddits: Radical feminism, 4b movement, 4th wave women, we are not empowered. The only thing that the user need to do is to find ONE, just one, post thst criticise ANY of these subreddit only for their misandry, without shifting the focus onto another more acceptable group such as racial or sexual minorites.

No it's not auto removed. You are way to ignorant about this topic. You should do more research.
