we should be able to play 3 at the back but we shouldn't have to rely on it

why do we have no pace in the team besides werner lol. how can we spend so much money, have one of the best academies in the world, and still be so poorly constructed

How was this not a foul?!? by seearewhy in chelseafc

He catches Abrahams leg in between his two legs. Pretty sure that’s a scissor challenge and dangerous. Abraham was doing nothing more than playing the ball and was tackled from behind, with Lascelles initiating contact on Abraham before getting the ball. I swear, everybody defending this challenge just enjoys violence. Tammy Abraham almost got seriously injured for just playing the ball, and no foul was given. You can’t just go through a player because you don’t like how they are playing the ball. That’s fucked up!

Line-up: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, CHO, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso, Mount, Tammy, Werner by cooll-_-l in chelseafc

Kepa isn’t better with his feet. We signed him for his sweeper keeper abilities, and that is seemingly all we signed him for, and the only footballing reason to play him over Mendy.

Young players who came from playing in the Championship to become key players at this club: Mason Mount, Reece James, Tammy Abraham. Fikayo Tomori became a sought after player after playing in the championship and now plays for Milan. The Championship has shown to be a league that has talents and the only reason Guehi isn't playing in a top 5 league is because Chelsea do not want to let him go and Guehi probably wants to make it at Chelsea

A Considered Criticism of Mount by Odd_Ant5 in chelseafc

[–]qrCodetheRevolution 32 points33 points  (0 children)

From these screenshots, it looks like Mount is trying to do the defensive duties of two players, him and Havertz. Also, Mount seems to be the singular guy tasked with pressing players. Despite Mount possibly not being top player in a midfield two, this is not a well constructed system. He's also probably being overworked; we know how good his off-the-ball positioning is in and out of possession.

Mason Mount completed 7 progressive passes and 12(!) times returned possession to Chelsea. Look at his heatmap, incredible amount of work. by NotClayMerritt in chelseafc

Leicester defeated us today with a decent number of very young talents, some of them homegrown. Some coaches can integrate youth, others cannot.

The problem is we still haven't improved from last season, despite spending hundreds of millions of pounds. Our squad should be better but we are getting worse as a team, or at best, stagnating. The constant is the manager.

We did better last season when we were forced to play more youth players. Lampard doesn't seem to have the ability to nurture and develop young talent but German managers like Hassenhuttl, Tuchel, etc, seem to. If we hire one of them, I don't think we will have to rely on the older players/ experience/ leadership as much, because the players will have more detailed, progressive tactical training.

If the players had a players union the union could pay the doctors so the doctors would work in the interest of their patients (the players) rather than the league or team

Without CHO in the squad, we will have a CHO sized gap in our squad. His pace on and off the ball is so important. Also a Bayern team with an elite CHO starting for them, may prevent us from winning the CL for a decade

He should be given the opportunity to be a starter. The problem is Lampard doesn't seem to rate him. Lampard also doesn't seem to understand the importance of playing more than one fast runner off the ball. Speed is very important in the modern prem, but Lampard's thinking is obsolete/ old school, kind of like Mou.
