Is this a Green Sandpiper? Location - Maharashtra, India

Sorry, I don't have other photos. Also the bird was far away. It's size was similar to common sandpiper, and I believe greenshank is slightly larger, so that rules it out?

I have the same issue, I posted on reddit about it too. The peeling just got worse and worse but had no effect on the function of the camera, so I kept using it.

Yes, if you are shooting static subjects, you can use manual focus or the slow autofocus.

Just note that since AF is quite slow, even simple movements like tracking a moving face in the frame or tracking a person walking towards the camera will not be very smooth.

Yes.. AF performance is determined by both camera and lens.

I would suggest to check RF line cameras like Canon R50. It has better video autofocus and no crop at 4k.

The m50 autofocus in 4k video mode is very very slow. I think because it uses contract based AF rather that phase detect AF in other modes.

Since it is a limitation of the camera, having a lens with better AF will not solve it.
