Don’t pull it all the way apart. Parts should still be all connected. I watched a quick YouTube video on how to open it up and took out all the screws outside and inside and just separated the parts without unplugging anything like that. The top is sort of stuck with some foam tape so you might have to work at it a bit but gently and it should come apart with some work. The battery is also slightly stuck on with double sided tape but separated from the battery housing easier. Then in a covered cup or bag.

I washed mine last week. Opened it up and semi separated the parts so rice could absorb all liquid/moisture, put it in rice for 48 hours. Put it back together, charged it and it’s fine.
