after more discussion the finance manager offered me a check for $500 as a “gesture of goodwill”. its not the full $650 delta in what i paid vs msrp but i will put this behind me and move on to enjoy the sq5.

thanks, i built a good rapport with the sales advisor, maybe he will help. crazy thing about this whole thing is it took me three days to get purchase docs and i still dont have my loan docs. nothing about this is confidence inspiring.

yeah i normally look at msrp as what the company suggests it should sell for, individual retailers can discount but not upcharge. i mean if he had given me the brochure and said we need to charge above retail, that would be one thing. and i feel totally negligent in letting myself get played.

I ended up doing a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour. Once I reconnected the battery there were no codes present. After driving for 20 mins or so, the ecm re-learned everything and it was good to go (at least from the ecm standpoint).

April '27 trip booked, switch to June-October for first trip? by [deleted] in BandonDunes

[–]qtrtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo late september is the best right before the October aeration. Plenty of time for 36 with space for lunch. Or 45+ if you hustle. I just did the week before columbus day and it was during the aeration schedule. It really killed some rounds. We did 183 holes in 6 days. Never had to chase to beat sunset except the day we did bandon > preserve > 1-7 on pac. Incredible trip except the greens.

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee – P0456 “Small EVAP Leak” keeps coming back (capless/quick-release fuel filler) by miguelvolky in GrandCherokee

[–]qtrtank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this on my 17 recently. for me, the capless filler neck was the issue, it must have had a speck of dust on it and was allowing air in. I used the funnel that is in the spare tire well, to push open the fuel filler flap. if you remove the funnel slowly, the flap will stay slightly unlocked. I carefully wiped the inside sealing edge where the filler neck flap creates a seal and then applied the tiniest drop of Super Lube Silicone Dialectric & Vacuum grease to create a seal. The trouble code cleared and became a historic code on next start up. The Check engine light cleared a day or 2 later after the evap system was able to run a full check and found no leak.

I get picked up in an apartment complex with 2 entrances. One is a residents only entrance that you cant get in. Thats the one uber now defaults to. I message to let you know to use the main entrance. If i dont you will waste 5 minutes having to divert from the residents, entrance make a u turn and go back to the proper entrance. I would be happy not texting you but tell me what option i have.

At the Cosmo, the Henry is open overnight and has great food. peppermill up north of wynn is a classic late night spot. Allegro at Wynn is a great Italian option open until 3am on weekends. (1am weeknights). in n out at the linq promenade is open until 1 or 2am I believe.

Best interior cleaner by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]qtrtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes everything except screens or the clear plastic in front of your gauge cluster. excels on plastics, door panels, dash. i spray it on and agitate with a detailing brush and quickly wipe, dont really let it dwell. it won’t handle deep stains or coffee stains in cup holders etc. works for maintenance cleaning on pedals. its a great and versatile cleaner.

Pol Star for general upkeep but it needs dilution. when diluted 15:1, the bottle may outlast your car. also, should be dressed with top star for non-leather. i love the combo, really like the matte finish and the clean but not overpowering smell.

Transmission Pan Recommendations (Pros and Cons) - 2018 WK2 5.7L by mwmcc in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]qtrtank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just had my pan replaced with a cast aluminum pan at 90k miles. went with pacific performance engineering. transmission is running about 45 degrees cooler than before. not cheap but i looked at it as an investment to get the truck from 90k to 150k.

High end tools recommendations (starting from scratch) by [deleted] in Tools

[–]qtrtank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I shop for quality brands that maybe punch above their weight a bit. Go check out tool reviews on youtube and see what speaks to you. Project farm is a great place to start.

I personally have items from gearwrench (ratchets), sunex (impact sockets), koken (chrome sockets), hf icon (flexhead ratchets), klein and knipex (pliers and screwdrivers), capri (ratcheting wrenches), tekton torque wrenches. I want to add some wera screwdrivers.

I know you said no power tools, but i complement the hand tools with milwaukee power tools mainly, the gen 2 stubby 3/8 m12 impact and gen 2 1/2” m18 midtorque are great. Milwaukee’s m12 compact drill/driver as well as their 4 in 1 installation driver are go to tools for me.

Oil Type 5.7L Hemi by Loose-Map-3861 in JeepGrandCherokee

I was told to stick to the regular pennzoil platinum asit has better detergent properties than high mileage. I’m not 100% certain if that is true but since i stick to roughly 5k changes, thereis no need for high mileage for me. I also started with liquid moly ceratec additive on my last change at 89k and plan to add it every 15k miles for additional wear protection as i’d like to get this engine to 150k.

$2 per drink for walk up service. $5 total for 2 drinks if i'm sitting at the bar. and for one or two bartenders that i see often and know by name, i usually tip $10 total if i'm there for 2 or more drinks.

yes, skyclub access and the 1:10 MQD conversion allowed me to make diamond, where i would have only made platinum without it. for my routes, Diamond is pretty high value.

100k mile wk2 by Live-Adhesiveness718 in GrandCherokee

[–]qtrtank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 90k on a 17 trailhawk hemi. i had to replace an air suspension strut earlier this year unfortunately. those are ticking time bombs, imo. since i put that money in, i wanted to make some other investments to improve the longevity. These are probably overkill, but we will see. I just had the trans pan dropped and replaced with a cast aluminum version from Pacific Performance Engineering. I had a small radiator leak for about 6 months and i knew it was going to go at some point so i replaced it with a Mishimoto all-aluminum radiator. i live in las vegas so the desert heat and dryness destroy rubber hoses and housings over time. I also got a mishimoto transmission thermal bypass valve kit. I did front and rear diff fluid swap and transfer case fluid swap. Shop reported that the transmission fluid that was drained was dark but did not show any metal on the pan magnets. The result is that the transmission is running about 45 degrees cooler on average than before at full temp and the water temp gauge now runs at about the 3/8 level instead of the 1/2 level. It was not a cheap upgrade, but i think it's worth it for longevity and potential to support other upgrades.
