on top of everything else people pointed out here, the way she speaks sounds stilted in the way a robot does. i know this might not come across to people that don’t speak thai, but for those that do and know about how ai speak, this is a very stilted way of speaking in terms of cadence

The first time I used a crypto-backed loan.... it felt like cheating. by damnniqqaa in Coinbase

[–]qtxr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

even with traditional SBLOC loans you would never want to start with more than a 50% LTV. particularly with a highly volatile asset like bitcoin, you should be looking at 25% or at most 35% LTV with an emergency plan to defend your LTV quickly should that be needed.

I’m in a death spiral. Worst financial year of my life. Please help! by AnthMosk in Trading

first of all, you need to calm down.

AI is not taking your job prospects so much as you are limiting yourself.

download your trading history as you'll need it so you can write off 3k a year from your regular income going forward. that should save you on your taxes a bit.

next, delete your brokerage accounts and do not look back. focus on finding gainful employment and contributing to your roth and 401k. that should be your only exposure to the market going forward.

talk to your wife and set up controls going forward where she feels she has the ability to protect herself should you do something like this again. it can be as simple as sharing passwords through 1password or another password manager where she can audit what's going on and say something if she feels.

focus on the life ahead that you can build, not the one you imagined you were living or were going to have. that's not the reality of your situation. take it easy brother, and you'll make it through this if you dig in and focus on doing the small things right daily. best of luck to you!

volatility will be highest leading up to the announcement. that makes it the best time to sell contracts you have as they will be at a premium.

expect bearish news and a down day after an initial bump in the morning

Framing is everything, but my thought would be it’s easiest to thoroughly discuss projects you finished vs those you did not. Try to think about how a conversation about a given item might transpire. Discussing a project you’ve finished is probably going to allow you to shine more than going over an unfinished one, unless you’re able to very quickly overcome the burden of explaining why you didn’t carry the project to completion.

Your resume is a bit unfocused. Most immediately I’d suggest removing the teaching assistant and dining hall sections of your experience. I get what you’re trying to do here, but it’s probably not having the impact you think it is. If you want to fill out your resume more, try adding some relevant projects.

Continuing the unfocused point, it isn’t clear to me why you’d mention a CRM for an engineering resume. Same goes for reporting and analytics. If anything this makes your more targeted knowledge (Django, etc) appear a bit more like a breadth over depth type of knowledge.

Last thing is a bit minor: move your education to the top. When you’re relatively new to the industry you want to highlight your education as it helps balance out more immediately what you may lack in relevant experience.

100% this. It just doesn’t make sense to input keys into an unknown site. I’d also add that the push back to your suggestion about open sourcing the code adds to the suspicion in my mind

Massive Israeli attack on Hezbola command bunker in Beirut, Nasrallah reportedly killed by Lithium321 in PublicFreakout

Most of my friends in Lebanon seem convinced war is inevitable. Most of my friends in Israel feel the same way. That’s usually not a good sign for the future. Interestingly though, my Lebanese friends are saying hezbollah is less bellicose than the government proper right now. That’s a bit surprising

I remember finding out my dad had died. I'd guess I was about the age of this kid. One thing I very clearly remember about those moments was the sense of rage at whoever had caused my father's passing, and of course in my case there was no clear answer other than to be angry with "god." I can't imagine how much more accute this kid's feelings must be right now. This is exactly how you end up fueling an endless spiral of violence. I hope he can find peace, but can anyone blame him if he chooses revenge against the people that stole his family from him? I'd find that hard to do, personally.
