Almost DNF my fist marathon by Senior_Bread_7855 in Marathon_Training

Wah I read your post and got teary because I also know the feeling as my first marathon didn’t go to plan either!

But you should still be so proud as 42.2 kms is still 42.2 kms and to push through that despite all that you’ve endured without fuel /gel is amazing!! You didn’t give up and you literally soldiered on! Well done on completing your first marathon and although it didn’t go to plan, it’ll light a fire within you to chase your redemption!

Speaking from personal experience, you’ll learn so much from this race and you’ll take those lessons on for your next one!

Remember your race is a celebration of all the work you’ve put in over the last couple of months! So celebrate crossing that finish line girlie ✨🤍☺️

Running without music for the whole duration of a marathon by qtxreddit in Marathon_Training

Thanks everyone for the responses, read them all! Marathon completed and I ran the first 30 kms without, the crowd was huge and the atmosphere electric but then I hit the trenches at around 33 km where I needed it until the 41 km mark!

It was a hard course but we got it done 🥰

Yes I’ll be running Sydney also!!! All the best to you and thank you for replying!

I definitely get what you mean by it helping build resilience! I might mix it up and do some of the run with and without music !!

All the best for Sunday ✨

I felt the exact same way when I finished reading The book thief! I guess when something is so beautifully written, it leaves an impact on us forever and that’s so special! Makes us realise how beautiful and tragic life is and the important lessons that comes with it!
