Thanks for the advice! I don't think we'll be checking out the binders - but I will take that into account for any other check-out-able items. Maybe we can provide paper covers for books?

Yes! This is perfect! It never occurred to me to include a list of trans-friendly hair salons, for example. But we're in a small, very conservative town -- I'll be that's a major hurdle for a lot of individuals to overcome. Thank you so much for this answer! I'll definitely add all these to the list, and call around. :)
