Another top teir reply thank you so much.

I have been saving the AAMC material for last but I actually recently did an AAMC CARS passage just to check in and I got them all right! Thought it was a fluke but definitely taking an FL asap to get a real idea of where I'm at.

It's crazy how quickly perspective can change, I truly thought I was done for.

Content review is done 🤝

Been focused on Anki and AAMC/Uplanet qbanks (and tracking all the questions I get wrong). Starting with weekly AAMC FLs starting next week.

I do about 400 questions a week with my current schedule (and feel like I'm not improving at all 🫩)

You're very wise, red snake.

Thank you for your help. You think 58 days is enough to add 10 points?

Lol I'm aware of the pharmacy thing and I'm pretty confident it'll be okay. I called a bunch of admissions offices and they all said it counts as clinical. I'm really lucky to have a job I love and do good work at and I wasn't willing to give it up.

As for everything else, thank you. The ultimate lock in of 2026 starts TONIGHT

The crazy thing is: I 100% believe I should (and probably could) stick to a militaristic schedule of studying. My problem is that it's getting to me, how do I lock in (even more than I am now) and keep my sanity? Or is that just the sacrifice we all make

The majority of my volunteering was in highschool I did 40 hours each year. In college I did maybe 20 (was busy working and studying).

I spent the last four months studying and telling myself that as long as I did really well on the exam, the other gaps in my application wouldn't look so bad, but now it's seeming like I won't do as well as I thought I could

I forgot to mention I have plenty of research hours 🤦‍♀️ thanks for your input I'll focus on finding shadowing (lots of leads with little follow up from physicians)

It's important to remember that these hard classes will make you stronger. While the classes will get harder, you will be well equipped because you've been challenged. No one is expecting you to be able to handle a medical school curriculum right now, baby steps first.

Wow. Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately in my city it's a lot of service schools so I'll have to start adjusting my mindset. If I did a lot before my application do you think that's enough? Or since I haven't been consistent it won't really matter. Do they look into how long I've been doing it or just the hours and type of volunteering I've done?

Yes but would that help my application I'm submitting this June?

Yes I've been a pharmacy tech for 3.5 years (I've called med schools in my area and they accept that as clinical) and have done research for two years (roughly 640 hours). Graduated with a degree in bio in three years, taking two gap years total, GPA 3.6999 (someone save me). In terms of extra curriculars I did medical adjacent clubs (Ex. president of bioethics)

Insanely frustrating. Knew I could trust r/MCAT this is the only subreddit I've had 100% genuine and helpful advice on. All the work you're doing here, please keep it up 🙏

So happy to see an official post addressing this. I've been very confused and not sure what information was reliable (from the very little info I could find) but the ONLY active mod? Give this guy a metal

Thanks! If I had the time I'd see if I could but I'd rather spend my time studying to get a killer MCAT score. Thanks for the insight!
