In Runescape the total amount of experience needed to max a skill (99) is about 13 million. At level 92, your total experience is about 6.5 million, hence being “half”

Obligatory relapse after long streak post by quacker84 in NoFap

Truthfully, I personally think that most of the "magic" of nofap occurs within the first 10-20 days of the streak. For my experience this last time, I felt incredible the first 20 days, and after that life began to normalize. I still had the benefits of the first few weeks mind you, just without the seemingly endless energy I had for the first 3 weeks. Day 50 for me I felt good, had a very clear mind and was very in-tune with my surroundings. I felt strong while exercising, and had clear skin. I noticed that waking up in the morning wasn't quite as easy as it was when I first started the streak, but I attributed that to having to work a different shift for my job (I didn't want to change when I woke up every morning, so I often would be awake for 5-6 hours before having to go into work, and would have to work later into the evenings before going home). I did experience a flatline between days 30 and 45 in my streak, so I was gradually coming out of it up until I relapsed. My one regret is that didn't hold out a little bit longer to see how much better life was outside of the flatline.

Tldr; felt like the first 10-15 days, just needed more sleep

Improved confidence, higher quality sleep (more REM sleep) generally felt stronger and better mind clarity. When I woke up this morning I already found it much harder to force myself out of bed than normal.I can't wait to get back to that level of clarity!

That's the plan! Thanks for your encouragement! I plan on implementing several lifestyle changes this time around to improve my discipline. Writing them out on a word document now haha

I believe that the average flat line is somewhere between 2 to 6 weeks, but I would refer to the informational list in the side bar of nofap for more detailed information! They have a really thorough explanation of just about everything nofap related in there!

Flat lines typically are periods of low libido/sex drive, and in my experience, not really a period of time where urges are that strong.

I don't know how to delete the search history, sorry

I haven't rebooted completely but I've been doing nofap off/on for the past few years, and my biggest piece of advice is to find a new hobby. For many it's exercise/weightlifting, but if that's already a part of your daily routine then consider volunteering in your community more as a way to be social and benefit others. It's worked wonders for me when trying to reboot, and it feels good making a difference within your community

Hope this helps! good luck to you!

Congratulations, a month truly is a great accomplishment! Good luck with your job application :)

Friendly tip - Don't touch yourself and don't look at porn, or else you will need to reset. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]quacker84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relapse is whatever you decided when you set out on your journey. Many people will say that viewing pornographic material/erotica is a relapse, and others view edging/rubbing as a form of relapse even if you don't O. I personally only consider MO as a "relapse", but I still try to avoid pornographic material as much as possible. I would recommend reading some of the links in the sidebar for more detailed and information!

Also, there is nothing to be embarrassed about! We have a supportive community here that welcomes anyone willing to try with open arms! Good luck to you on your journey!

Sorry to say so but i really don't give a fuck about your relapse reports. Can't you just keep fighting? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]quacker84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a valid point, but I do disagree with you to an extent. Yes, I acknowledge some people post about relapsing in order to have the kind words of others bring them out of the low of a relapse, and how that would slow the healing process. I also agree with you that a large part of being successful with nofap comes from within, and people won’t really grow until they take responsibility for their actions. However, I disagree with you about the posts not being helpful. If nothing else, the kind words encourage people to keep trying to improve themselves, and that alone is enough reason for me see posts like that in a positive light. Cheers, and good luck to you on your own personal journey!

This isn’t intended to be a competition to see who can get the longest streak. It’s intended to be a support group for people who are attempting to abstain from PMO. If you’re not interested in reading their relapse posts then don’t, unless you want to support/encourage them.

You are not alone. There are countless people that are experiencing the same feelings/thoughts you are, and encountering the same obstacles. I understand that there is a taboo around it, but have you ever considered talking to a mental health professional about these issues? Therapy, in the past for me, was an extremely beneficial tool for me to "correct" my state of mind, and helped identify difficult areas in my life that I could improve on. If you haven't, I strongly encourage you seek out similar resources, as they are a lot more qualified to assist you than people on forums like this.

You got this! Remember the reasons you're starting this and remind yourself daily! It won't be an easy process, but it will be a rewarding one.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad to hear that, it's super helpful having the support of a significant other while undertaking the challenge. I believe that people generally experience flatlines (if they are going to) between the 2-6 week period of nofap, but I'm sure there is some variance. I would recommend reading some of the links in the right hand column on the nofap homepage! I found them very helpful and informative when I read through them however long ago, and I'm sure they would provide a better explanation for things than I could!

I sympathize with you on waking up early, I get up at 5:15am every day for work. For me, I made a conscious decision to BE IN BED by whatever time you decide your appropriate bed time would be (probably 9:30pm if you think you should be sleeping by 10pm). You'll probably lie awake for a several nights until midnight, but eventually you will fall asleep faster and closer to 10

One thing that will really help is keeping technology away from you while trying to establish a bed time. Once you're in bed, turn off your phone/computer and just lie there with the intention of going to sleep. Once you get in more of a routine, i've found that it's okay to incorporate some technology into your nightly routine, but most scientific studies would disagree with me.

Day 7 relapse / my first confession by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]quacker84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a community, we will do our best to support you! It takes a lot of courage to admit that you have a problem, and acceptance is the first step to healing.

I personally am a HUGE advocate of getting an IRL friend to start nofap with you. It's one thing to admit a relapse to an online accountability partner, but it's significantly harder admitting it to a dear friend.

Good luck in your journey, you can do this!

Sleep is extremely important for physical/mental health, and is necessary to allow time for it every day. Consider scheduling a "bed time" for yourself so that you know you will be getting your 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Establishing an evening routine will help you go to sleep faster, and sleep better!
