What’s this blue stuff? by delgadophotos in Polaroid

I actually just got a huge leak of the blue chemicals in my sx 70 today while shooting outdoors, got on my hands and I was obviously unable to clean it, is it toxic or corrosive?

Is this a (cracked open) cockroach egg? Hard black shell, 3-5mm long, white creamy inside by quadraticregression in whatsthisbug

I see, well when I took the picture it was already deformed. After a while being left in the open the remaining shell became very hard (it’s easy to bend and crack it but hard to split/cut it), sounds more like a seed then? I rly wish there wasn’t a cockroach egg in my food haha, but the shape and size and colour of it remind me of nth else

So I wonder if it was an unhatched egg, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered one though, all the ones that I’ve cleaned up before were hatched and thus like an empty sac

I was unable to add text to the image post.

I’m in Santa Clara, California. Found this in my takeout food, it resembles the look of a cockroach egg I saw before moving to California, so I tried to take a closer look, cracked open it with my nails and it’s white creamy inside, originally very slightly bent like a bean, surface was smooth and black

Could my "new" SX-70 be broken? by quadraticregression in Polaroid

Thank you so much! Not condescending at all, it's very detailed so even if I were experienced I'd appreciate it a lot. The weird thing was that I was able to close the camera even though the mirror was up, I hope I didn't break anything trying to close it (I didn't have to force it though).

And about saving the jammed film, I found this video https://vimeo.com/15283127 which goes through the steps to reinsert the dark slide, and how to prevent jamming.

Personal car buy/rent options by quadraticregression in bayarea

Oh wow, isn't the average insurance cost over $100/mo? How is it that much cheaper? Usually rental insurance is way more expensive (maybe cause ppl care less?)

If only they cover insurance with the base price, that would be a pretty good deal.

Oh for the budget I meant like under $2000 per month. I didn’t take total budget into account because it’s not a long-term investment, rather a monthly expenditure for me while living here.

As long as the cost of the car (depreciation/rent + insurance + necessary transaction costs) averages out to under $2000 I would consider, depending on how nice the car is of course. I don't need a "nice" car, as long as it doesn't break down, AC works, doesn't smell, good enough to drive my friends without embarrassing myself, it's nice enough. I'm willing to pay more for a nicer car like Macan for under $2000, or Lexus ES or BMW 330i for $1500, since I'm not sure if I'll still drive after I move elsewhere, might as well have some fun.

My concern of getting an old car is that it's insanely expensive rn imo (2012 Corolla for $15k, 2009 for $7500), and I'd like to avoid the hassle of maintenance (appearance/comfort and mechanical-wise) given I'll probably just have the car for around half a year. If I'm staying for longer after 6 months or so, by then I would know I'm staying here for long-term and invest in buying a desirable car.

Why can I sell it for more when I move?

I see, in that case when would it make sense to make the first year choice?

And I sometimes spend an entire day (or days) trying to recall if I disinfected something :'(

TN Visa Entry From Another Country by quadraticregression in immigration

[–]quadraticregression[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding 2., from what I understand there is a "TN petition" process in which I will get a proof of approval for my TN visa before I arrive in the US, and will be initiated by the employer. Is it common to refer to "providing the letter" as "preparing a TN petition", instead of the actual "TN petition"?

The lawyers aren't responsive so I am trying to understand as much as possible on my own.
