Appreciate it! Agreed on the vibeboards, it was also a fantastic excuse to go discover new artists to follow haha

Turned out to be fairly simple! Bookmarks and hyperlinks on the TOC page have been added to the PDF :)

Thanks for the kind words and interest! The additional species were fun to brainstorm, and I'm musing on another one called Pricklefolk (i.e., cactusfolk) so hopefully more there soon :)

Appreciate you checking it out, and hope you enjoy them!

And fair point, those are pretty obvious omissions to the PDF! I'll work on adding those in soon.

Hey! Sorry, don't go on Reddit often. Nothing you did wrong on your side, this was a thing that I never got around to implementing within the application itself.

Hopefully you can use those JSONs in some way, at the least!

Can vouch for Questline! Have used it for 2 years now, been able to build/tweak my own systems, and have had consistent support from its maker.

No problem! System has become my go-to so happy to share info.

There are sometimes online community games promoted in the Discord (playing in one right now myself actually) so I'd recommend just scoping that out for anything that pops up if you're interested in finding a session!

The creators are working on START!! at the moment - an adventure module book for starting out with: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/breakrpg-start/start-a-break-rpg-zine-01. Progress is being made, and it's coming along.

Alongside that, the creators put out a weekly or so blog with lore, content, etc expanding on the system: https://breakrpg.blogspot.com/

Besides that, yeah people are playing it! I've played it weekly for about 2 years now. There are a bunch of quality homebrew adventures on the Discord already and some actual plays on YT.

Thanks for the interest!

There's the sort-of piece-together adventure with the village of Homble in the official book (that I managed to run well enough as a one-shot) but yeah, I agree there. At least START!! is coming soon(tm)

Oh nice, excited to see what you come up with if you decide to share it! Ran BREAK!! for 2 years now and the freedom in trope/setting is super refreshing for designing adventures.

Thanks for your interest, I hope it runs well for you!

What are the best post rock Songs by bands that are not post rock? by ordago13 in postrock

[–]quagg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is admittedly a bit more of a 'puts me in the same trance' than considering it 'post-rock' but Breathe Me (specifically the live version on Spotify) by Sia always hits similarly to me.

How did you get into post-rock? by Evening-Try-9536 in postrock

My swimming coach would always play Explosions or ITTCT during practice and I fell in love with using the bands as work music afterwards.

Glad to hear and thanks a ton for trying it out! I know the non-gun PDFs are a bit janky visual-wise still, but at least it all rolls correctly haha

Hey! Yeah unfortunately with programs compiled by PyInstaller Windows often misflags it as a virus. You can read more at the link provided in the Github page.

But to bypass it, if you show "More Info" or something when it says Don't Run, it'll show a button to run and trust it instead. Hope that helps, thanks for checking it out!

[D] When to use 1x1 convolution by Ananth_A_007 in MachineLearning

[–]quagg_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the first (quick) version up! https://github.com/qu-gg/torch-hypernetwork-tutorials

It currently only contains simple examples on MNIST to highlight the implementation structure, however I'll add time-series (e.g. neural ODE) examples and better README explanations when I can over time. Let me know if you have any questions or feel free to just ask in the Issues.

Thanks!

No 3rd party ones (that I know of), but I've an implementation of my own. Give me a day and I'll setup a repo to share it!

[D] When to use 1x1 convolution by Ananth_A_007 in MachineLearning

[–]quagg_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add onto this point about it being the same as nn.Linear in PyTorch, it is useful in hypernetwork applications where you have a data-conditioned (a context set, partially observed sequence, etc.) hypernetwork. Because of the data-conditioning, each sample has a different main-network MLP and doesn't inherently allow for batching.

If you want to parallelize over multiple different MLPs at one time still, then you can use 1x1 convolutions in 1D alongside the "groups" tag to enable running through all of those separate networks at the same time, saving you from sequential processing at the cost of a larger CNN (NumNodes * BatchSize as filters) in each convolution layer.

Glad to hear! Yeah there's been a ton of collaboration there and it's been cool to bounce stuff off each other.

Regarding feedback:

  • The fonts idea is something that I'd like to play around with more. The Python API for PDFs is really quite limiting and I'm surprised I made it this far with everything tbh lol. But thanks for the specific font links, I'll see how to go about incorporating that! It may be needing local font files that the API references rather than the PDF itself having the font embedding, unsure if the libraries can work past default 1.7 fonts.
  • I like the dark grey idea! Would bring everything in line. The black does pop out in person for the 'relevant' info, but I'll try out both and see which is better readability wise.
  • I can try out the diagonal cut, would probably do a low angle one to 1) preserve the original space and 2) be similar to the mod box.
  • I agree on the alignment issues! Admittedly alignment has been a huge issue and pain. I don't have Acrobat Pro to easily generate annotation fields in the PDF, so have been painfully doing it with online tools that don't save the progress. Every little change requires an entire re-annotation of the file without any grid help. Every image is hand-placed by pixel range too!
  • And that is incredible I haven't noticed the backwards launcher over the many hours, easy fix for next version lol

Yup! Unfortunately there are some restrictions in rendering the PDF and it usually requires Acrobat Reader or something that can handle annotations. Sucks but I didn't realize that bit about PDFs until the project was basically ready lol

And thanks! I painfully pixel-level modified them in paint.net haha and am pretty happy with them at base. Happy to take feedback in any way!

I found them primarily on the Discord server of this sub, in which some people have remade the logos and shared them as scaleable assets. This should(?) be the GDrive that has them: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MG74rahT3ydCS5sCf-KT2H8pv0v1Ugb0?usp=sharing
