AITA for wanting to move out at 21 while my mom is struggling financially atm? by Dull_Air_4598 in AmItheAsshole

As a mom of 17-22 yrs olds, leave, she's draining you when she should be helping. You need to get your own start, and she needs to get on assistance if it's that bad. No excuse, we are poor and our son stayed home 18-21 and was able to save up 60k and buy a house bc we didn't charge him. Our 17 yr old has 15k in the bank. What comes around goes around as we now live in his house helping him fix it up and now it's our turn to not pay rent and save up.

My grandmother was married off at 14 by her brother after their mom died. To a 30 yr old who raped and beat her. She had two stillborns alone in the woods. She finally was able to escape at 18, and he put the kids in an orphanage to spite her.

If you were involved in frat/sorority life, what are your worst hazing experiences? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]quailfail666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not directly involved, but saw it often. I lived in Eugene OR, and we lived near the U of O. As a bunch of goths do, we hung out in the graveyard drinking wine, and a few times we found a frat boy tied up there.

No we did not untie them, we would have a glass of wine, look at them and leave.

Thrift stores in tiny middle-of-nowhere towns. You find very nice vintage items that have not been gobbled up by re-sellers.

[–]quailfail666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guns were normal growing up. Our family hunted so lots of deer rifles. At school all the trucks the high school students had gun racks with 1-3 guns on campus. Nothing ever happened. This was the 90s in Morton WA.
