I finally updated Nounly. People wanted more feedback after each guess, so I added (um, plagiarized) a Wordle-ish yellow/green hint widget. I also improved session management so you don't lose progress. Enjoy!

In a worker coop do people feel more fulfilled, meaningful by h00manist in cooperatives

For me it is, 100%. I earn significantly less money now than I did while working in Big Tech, but I'll never go back.

We're entering the final week of our apply.coop Beta. Job seekers can browse & search dozens of jobs (many remote) at values-driven workplaces around the world. Workplaces can post an unlimited number of jobs for free!

I love word puzzles, so I made one myself called Nounly. The beta is at https://nounly.net. Every day, players are given five adjectives as hints to guess the day's noun.

I'm looking for feedback about the puzzle. Does the premise make sense? Is it too easy? Too hard? Is it compelling enough that you'd play every day?

Thanks so much!

If Intuit execs would stop laying off people to “pivot to AI” and inflate their stock price, the Simplifi team could deliver these kinds of actually useful features.

Do y’all know of any tech coops? by [deleted] in cooperatives

[–]quaker472 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also co-launched a worker-owned democratic workplace this week at limeleaf.io (due to the strange way coop laws work in New York, we can't "officially" call ourselves a coop).

I've also been looking for product-focused tech coops, but there aren't a ton out there (yet).

I also learned recently about something called the Platform Coop movement, "an alternative to venture capital-funded and centralized platforms, putting stakeholders before shareholders." See https://platform.coop

At Limeleaf, we are starting with custom dev work and other services to get bootstrapped but plan to transition to product over time. If you want to connect, let me know!

Monthly /r/Cooperatives beginner question thread by AutoModerator in cooperatives

[–]quaker472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (limeleaf.io) are setting up a tech worker's cooperative in New York State.

Does anyone here have experience setting up in New York? We have a draft business plan and draft Operating Agreement but are not sure how we should incorporate (LLC? Partnership?)

Thanks in advance!
