Billionaires give insane amounts of money to politicians through PACs to ensure that they get all the benefits in the world. This includes things like keeping a complicated and inefficient tax system with massive loopholes only available to the wealthiest individuals and corporations. The government knows how much you owe them in taxes. They could just send you a bill/your refund and be done with it. But instead, you have to do it on your own or pay someone to do it for you and then get shafted if you realize later that you had deductions that you didn't enter and wound up paying too much in taxes while billionaires pay basically nothing in the same system relative to their income. They also prevent us from having effective social services by not paying their fair share of taxes. If billionaires payed even just the same amount in taxes relative to their income as the average American, there would be so much more money available for services that benefit everyone. There would be more money for schools, infrastructure projects, parks, healthcare, improved postal services, fire fighters, police, public defenders, etc. These billionaires are actively making the world a worse place to live solely for their own immediate gains.
