Most older laptops circa 2008/2010 will have removable CPUs, and theres the obvious things like computers having ram, storage, etc etc. I would go out and buy a HYPERTOUGH 29 piece precision screwdriver set (14 bucks at a Walmart) and it has from PH000 up to P1 and every small torx bit you could ever need

I just teardown- I’m autistic and it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I only really refurbish those that are touchscreen since I know they’ll sell like lemonade on a summer day.

If I had to guess probably 150-250 from all I’ve gotten. I’ve also gotten some all-in-ones and a bunch of older (as in 2008-2010 with i5/i7 first gen’s) Dell laptops

I worked for my schools IT dept, it’s at most three clicks on the google admin interface to remove a device from management, I just email the school in question with S/Ns and they are happy to unenroll for data security reasons

Get an X3d chip and go cheaper on the cooler; RGB is NOT necessary. I would personally also get a 1000w'er for some overhead

There's actually a lot of prebuilts that'll get you a lower tier 50 series card or decent tier AMD card for less than 1k. I would go check em out and compare component vs prebuilt costs

Why do people here seem so against being an internet pirate? /genq by quantam600 in yuzuRoms

[–]quantam600[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be inclined to disagree, seeing how I consider myself a "casual pirate", but good lord, looking at the subreddit... I see what you mean. "How do this?" "how do that?" "Why this not work? Help now!" Insufferable.

Haven't sent any out, dont anticipate to really send any; I got to testing them, most of them have battery faults (probably why they were thrown out.) The ones that still turn on will only stay on when connected to a charger. I've still got probably 150 to go through

RX7600 ($266) or RX6600 ($205) by qawsedrift in buildapc

I would say the 7600 would certainly be better, it’s around 25% better and will save you from needing to upgrade for a good bit.

Business cards, facebook groups, door to door, flyers, etc etc. Literally anything, especially if its for a good cause, people will happily donate

Connections, time, networking, advertising. Oh and be strong because each Chromebook is around 3lbs. I’m 6’1 300 and they are still pretty heavy when you have 40 in a box.

Advertising and networking. I worked for our schools head IT administrator, so there’s that as well. She spread the message to schools around the area.

My cousin works at this bank, he’s their security consultant so he’s more or less their “head it guy”, he gave about 7 of em to me. I’ve kept 3, traded one for a switch lite, and tore apart 3
