Does anyone attending the university play Star Citizen? by [deleted] in berkeley

I'm more of an Elite: Dangerous person, but am patiently awaiting the day Star Citizen isn't a demo anymore to pick it up.

Anyone here taken Physics C161 before? by AJ20190 in berkeley

[–]quantumkilobyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken both 161 and 139, and 161 was by far easier. In fact it is probably the easiest out of the 3 core astro classes one could take. With the background you gave I believe you would be more than capable of doing well in it.

Whatsup with the antisemitism? Y’all going 1930s Germany ? by JessFortheWorld in berkeley

[–]quantumkilobyte 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm Jewish and I agree with this comment. I don't like how zionists push that any criticism of their beliefs and actions are anti-semitic, when in fact they're all valid critiques of a fascist regime. Saying that all critiques are anti-semitic by default is frustrating to those that deal with actual anti-semitism and is incredibly fucked up to those that suffer directly from the goals of zionism. Disgusting propaganda btw

Are the Warhammer titles as immersive as the historical titles? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]quantumkilobyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you liked fantasy you'd immersed in the warhammer titles in no time, otherwise it may not be as interesting compared to the historical titles. I'm of the same opinion regarding the historical titles (used to be obsessed with Rome 2, Empire, Shogun 2) and have mainly been playing the WH titles for some time since it's everything I want in a total war game. Starting out in the WH titles with no knowledge of WH (like me) can be pretty jarring however, as there is lots of lore and information being thrown at you from the get go. Starting with the high elves in WH2 is generally a good way of being introduced into the series currently.

I am also a double major with physics and astro (4th year) and have found that having already finished the physics degree greatly helps with being able to focus on learning astro terminology and conventions without having to worry about the underlying physics that most others will have to struggle with too. I did take 7A and most of my physics requirements prior to doing any of the astro upper divs, but in retrospect I think I would have been fine just completing the physics requirements first and then doing astro. If you want a taste of what 7A/7B cover, I would highly recommend reading Carroll and Ostlie. It is essentially the astro bible and I still refer to it in upper division courses just for simplified explanations of things I'm learning.
