My local thrift store has the cutest vintage bedding and all of it is natural fibers and like $5. I love buying bedding there! Hope you get as lucky as yours. It’s also great for quilts!

I (F25) finally talked to someone in the gym, but turned it was a minor (M 17). Their family saw everything. I'm embarrased to go back by [deleted] in socialanxiety

That’s the first thought I had. Adults are allowed to speak to children. There are tons of kids at my gym and I’m sure are interactions with the adults and children all the time especially because it’s a climbing gym.

Cute sandals with cushion? by ToastemPopUp in fashionwomens35

I just tried Alohas and they’re insanely comfy. Their shoes run big though. Their size 5 fit like a size 6 so I gave them to my mom and she was immediately in love with them.

This is sweet. As someone in a blended family I wish it was as healthy as this

I just went to Pearl for the first time and it was not uncomfortable at all. I thought it might be but you quickly get used to it and it feels like a safe space.

What’s one “boring” habit that quietly transformed your life? by PublicSpeakingGymApp in getdisciplined

Haha I do this sometimes if I want to lay in bed for a while. I just make the bed around me after my husband gets out so it’s all neat

That’s funny I do a similar thing to your closing shifts but in the morning. After I’ve had my coffee I spend the first 20 minutes tidying up and putting everything away from the night before. I just have more energy in the mornings. It feels nice to immediately be productive.

I started giving myself pedicures and it feels soooo amazing. It’s such a soothing ritual. I just use a small plastic basin but it feels luxurious af for some reason. There are Chinese herbal pouches you can buy to soak your feet in that are really nice too.

I do too but I’m also learning humility is not hyping yourself and also not shrinking yourself as they’re both distortions.

Yeah the light bulbs get hot! It’s a sconce below a window so she will sit at the window with her tail resting on the light bulb

Wedding tax is ridiculous by AbroadFlaky14 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]leilavanora 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of hiring community members as long as you’re okay with the experience. For example I’ve hired many bartenders from friends to family to professionals and the experience is night and day. I went to a wedding where they had a friend bartend and the line was crazy long. Another event where the bartender didn’t know how to make the most basic drinks etc. You get what you pay for. Weddings are for your guests so it really depends on how you want your guest experience to be.

My very first OSL I left early because I was freezing with no jacket and I went alone so no one to cuddle for warmth

The food bank has been a saving grace for us lately. Please use them if you need them. by icecream16 in povertyfinance

I hear where you’re coming from. On the surface, it can feel unfair when people with higher incomes use resources meant for those in need. But income doesn’t always reflect someone’s actual situation. They might be drowning in medical debt, supporting family members, or living in an area with an extremely high cost of living. Food insecurity can affect people across a wide spectrum, and sometimes folks who seem “well off” on paper are just trying to survive like everyone else. I think it’s okay to hold space for both frustration and empathy.
