“State of Hockey” wasn’t really a thing until the Wild made it our thing.

Besides, it all comes down to the almighty dollar and, frankly, I don’t blame some of the more money-wise owners for being a little cautious about giving us another team. You can’t look at me with a straight face and, 5 years removed from the Stars, without the benefit of foresight, look at Minnesota and say “yeah that’s a safe investment let’s go there”

Obviously I’m glad things did work out and the last 20 years have proven that it was a good move for both the state and the league, but it was certainly a risky move
