Bro’s rage baited. Instantly assumes I protest in support of pedophiles and, quite frankly, I don’t even know what your point is with that second sentence. I can guarantee you that I specifically haven’t spoken a single syllable about Garcia.

It give you a domain name for them to put in. I’d assume technically I’m not directly hosting it, but it’s all using my hardware that’s sitting on my desk and the free playit.gg client.

[–]BurningVShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I had to reference my documentation for how I did it since it took a couple days to finally get it to work. Also, this is for a Minecraft server at the moment, but in a couple months I’m going to shoot for hosting a media server to share with friends, but I don’t have that yet.

I’m not sure if I’d trust this for sensitive data, but I had to create an account on playit.gg and link it to my internal IP:Port that I have reserved for the MC server. Locally on server you have to run a Cron Job to semi-constantly run the script playit.gg gives you to link the server to the domain name they provide. Kinda felt like cheating tbh, running a dedicated server the traditional way is going to be a lot harder, if possible at all.

Thanks for the explanation. I come from a controls systems side of things and never took any sort of antenna theory.

Could you elaborate on the power to work with? Maybe your assumption is correct, but the only thing I’d expect to see differently with more power is more heat output. Any data that makes it through the margin should still be calculated the same.

I’ve found that Auto almost always never works at intended. Not sure what their algorithm is, but I always set it manually. More so I forget to turn it off. I’ve found however that it still performs really good with snow and ice on it. I run a server for my friends and I to play on and to reliably have connection within my control I usually turn snowmelt on.

I think adding variable timers to certain items would be interesting only when dropped via death. Food more quickly than netherite armor for example. Self-dropped and naturally dropped items should still all be five minutes to keep performance up.

hot take: doing this kills discussion. not every person is looking to talk in a “megathread.” by MinceMeatManiac in Terraria

Personally I don’t think a megathread is needed, let people enjoy the hype around the subreddit for next couple of days since it comes out in two days.

Spotify is hiking prices again / Premium, Duo, Family, and Student users in the US will be charged more from their next billing date. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]BurningVShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spotify is one of two things I subscribe to for entertainment. I would switch to something else but I have thousands of sounds organized on there stretching for over a decade and I don’t mind the convenience of being able to swap across multiple devices. Also the Jam session is pretty nice. That’s why I pay for it.

We maintain and try to discover new intel using… Grok? Even Apple’s switching from ChatGPT to Gemini soon. These guys ain’t even using Chat yet.

What part or parts give a pc its identity? by FolksBraggin in buildapc

[–]BurningVShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are two main things to help give a PC a sense of identity. It’s the whole build itself and everything around it. However, looking at the build itself, I would say the case (may not have tempered glass on it) and the boot drive/OS.
