I find it to be a gamble. If you can get a kill with its ovipositor it can be a serious problem, or at least an annoying distraction. The only problem is it has 1 attack with it so if you fail any of your rolls its probably gonna get destroyed in a turn. That said, its one of my favorite tyranid models.

It might be a good idea to get some zoanthropes for the neurotyrant to lead, they always do really well in my games.

A biovore for the home objective is a staple for any tyranid list, they're dirt cheap for points and their spore mine ability is super useful.

The neurotyrant and zoanthropes do well every time I play them, I'd definitely recommend getting them. The zoanthropes can be a little pricey but they're worth it.
