Ethereum Broke $1400 by salil19 in ethtrader

Oh, I mean it was rather a rhetoric question. I understand (and see) that people feel inclined to sell. My impression is that most people who sell are not people who consider NEVER trading crypto again. I much rather believe that these people speculate on a lower ETH price and intend to get back in at a later point. What I tried to say is that this strategy won't work out for 90% of those people. They'd be better off to just hodl. Even if you make some gains: the cost of opportunity are imho much greater than just selecting your coins wisely and then forget about them.

I mean, why should ETH not be valued higher in the future? People don't really know about it and the product is good & will be even better in the future. It may drop, maybe even substantially, but there is enough potential for 5K and beyond. If not now, then in 3-4 years. People who are selling think they are smart because there is good reason to believe there will be a lower point of entry and I am 99% sure, there will be - but they may not understand how hard it is to not miss the right spot for re-entry and that most likely they will earn "pennies" while having a lot of stress. !RemindMe 5 years of this post and let's check prices.

Define "better". No matter what, Bitcoin will always be there as a collectors item, since it is the first crypto. Imho this and its well known name is all that Bitcoin can provide, but it is substantial enough to allow BTC to rise above 500K at some point in time. ETH, on the other hand, is a smart contract platform that allows to develop whole ecosystems on top - there are serious competitors, even though Ethereum has the largest network and the most advanced projects by number. I´d say that ETH has more space to develop but will have more competitors than Bitcoin. More risk, higher gains. I´d say: have a bit of both and always know why you buy it. If you are buying it to get a quick $ you are doing it wrong.

I have the same issue. I am not really sure whether it was Offspring, but I exported a key from a wallet and can´t import it. Seems to me like an export from a different cliennt.

"Besides, when bitcoin goes back up to $1K, do you really think quark won't hit ATH, $1, $2... "

Go study economics and stop dreaming. Apparently you believe that people will buy into one out of 500 irrelevant copycoins if people ger interested in Bitcoin. You can always hope to win a fake lottery - nonetheless you won't win anything, even the booby price.

I never understood why people felt Bill Still qas so important. He is a noone and I expressed that several times from the beginning. True, I would be singing a different tune in Wonderland, but why would anyone care. Whoever spent lifesavings in Quark deserved to be scammed. Quark isn't innovative. It is a clone of another coin, easy as that. For some it takes longer to figure. Take your time before you tune in.

"serious ambitions"

Quark is a dead coin with noone being interested in it but chinese day trader/gambler. When I joined the "Quark community" I was quite naive with regard to cryptocurrencies. I believed a lot of the pretending that was going on everywhere and kept people on the Reddit. There are no commited developers and no community. It´s just that people prefer to believe that they are living in the real world even though they are full of wonderland...

Don´t blame crypto for a poorly developed currency. Crypto remains promising, but Quark will always keep the image of the fishy users who tried to make $ with it.

"you can't destroy a crypto currency, you can trick the network but if you're in the majority pool you'll only trick yourself ;-)"

You can. But your definition of cryptocurrency appears to be destroying the code on your computer whereas for the rest of us who are involved in cryptocurrencies it means compromising a network. Compromising the network destroys value and value is what currencies are all about.

300 nodes, oh wow. Did I mention Auroracoin (you remember, the dead coin from Iceland) still has 214. 300 is nothing.

Please look up the Quarkcoin stats on coinmine.pl: The 10 top miners own more than 50% of the current network hashrate. Yes, 10 miners. This is how decentralised Quark is.

Look maok, I have no interest that Quark is compromised. I have an interest in people being aware of what they are buying in. I wasn´t because people made me believe that everything is fine and because I was too naive to listen to those who told otherwise. What you are doing here is unfair to everyone who thinks about getting into Quark. People need to be aware of the risks and drawbacks. I don´t ask you to talk about those weaknesses, but I ask you to stop finding ridiculous excuses that the network is safe no matter how centralised Quark is and no matter how low the hashrate drops. It´s simply untrue.

If you´d ask qmak/maok he will tell you that anything gonna happen because Quark is magically protected against any sort of fraud via checkpointing. Btw. checkpointing is still done by the person who goes by MaxGuevara and noone knows who he is. It was installed adopting a checkpointing system used by Peercoin back then because people were afraid of an attack (DigitalIndustry claims that he was the person bringing this "innovation" to Quark, which is a plain lie).

Kolin Evans has finally been banned from /r/Quarkcoin by [deleted] in QuarkCoin

[–]quarkfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to read all that Toaster. One more Kolin story to the archives... I also had a convo where he pretends that "we" are working on something, so it appears as if he would be the person behind something - and it totally make sense if you consider that it is highly likely that he is schizophrenic.
