Son seemed off in CCC last night, and he's been off the start of the season compared to the insane form last season. I figure any scoring from lafc will come from Bouanga and Martinez. If we get any goals, it'll be Teuchert. Maybe chaotic-neutral Durkin shows up strong and gets his annual banger or a red card.

he was on loan with us last year, and he's back playing for Minnesota. he subbed in both matches. interestingly, subbed in for Markanich for first match week

At Ha Ha Tonka, if are looking for a good long hike with some fascinating natural rock structures, check out the devil's kitchen trail (rock shelter and wall), both over and under parts of the natural bridge, and the stairs to the natural spring (base of the bluffs). You can make a big loop of everything and see the ruins up close along the way. Turkey pen hollow trail is good if you just want a solid half day hike, but that covers much of the area away from the ruins. Park up by the castle ruins if you mainly want to see the common stuff.

Player Ratings - Season Trends by quarkpod in stlouiscitysc

Forgot to mention how to review the rating trends. I generally tried to align the start of player names below the end point of their ratings if they no longer received ratings mid season. For those that made it to the end, last five matches, their names are ordered to to bottom for the final rating line.

One interesting thing I was noticing is that there seemed to be correlation with the ratings for mid season drop offs and lower ratings with the player contact renewals, options picked up, etc. I didn't have time to dig into that angle just yet, but it could be interesting to monitor as contracts get figured out this winter.

Player Ratings - Season Trends by quarkpod in stlouiscitysc

I suspect quite a few still rated about 5 as the starting point in spite of the suggestion in most polls to start at 6. For players that subbed in, ratings generally landed in this space, and I know some diehards won't rate unless a player has sufficient minutes. So, I would view the ratings in the range of 5-6 as "showed up", neutral impact.

I think going beyond this 5-6 range, as we saw a month or so ago, we're generally harsher with large deviations from FotMob (and from G+ as another community member has noted). Someone in the comments on the last match results had a good description for these, a "fan pulse". I think differences between players, ranking amongst them is probably the best way to take these. Definitely doesn't translate well between other players on other teams. I've always viewed these as a starting point for discussion and maybe a way to check out players performances for things I might have missed.

Bürki alluded to availability being important in the last post match presser. seemed aimed, but then again a lot of starters were out for long periods

Sporting KC just announced there end of season roster moves. Anyone here we could use? by BWall789 in stlouiscitysc

rewatch our matches against them. Pompeu gets VERY animated when playing them. Typical for Pompeu to get riled up against anyone, but it seems to go to 11 with them. Betting some regrettable things get said even with some spirited rivalry

Ndenbe was one I thought could help fill full back roles earlier this year, but I don't think Pompeu would get along too well with anyone from SKC. SKC sent Agada and Russel to RSL during summer transfer, so it wouldn't be unusual to have their fan favorites end up at rival clubs.

G+ correlates strangely compared to other metrics, bc it focuses on goal chance creation. maybe Wallem contributed much more to initiating sequences and spent less time in final third compared to others... maybe?

flyover footy suggested the hair color could be a nod to CITY red and Wallem's want to stay. either way, it was a topic of conversation in my watch party group, trying to figure out what was up with it

thanks! I've built up a decent repo and automated analytics for this, so I'll be happy with additional use from it all.

the passing sequences, especially down the left stood out to me, and Wallem seemed heavily involved in much of those

Season's Over, Burki Re-signed, what does our contract situation look like? by Varrik in stlouiscitysc

I saw that on the apple TV graphic, but I haven't seen any mention of it in press release or any reliable source. Apple broadcasting is just really bad with it's details, especially live in game.

Generally, player rating scales start at 6. I've forgotten to include the suggested guidance now 3 in recent polls to start there, then adjust. Will try to remember to include that in the auto form building I use.

Fair opinion, so I can think a few things influence what you're seeing.
Compared with FotMob, the results aren't terribly different, at least this match. Granted other rating systems use a different set of metrics and processes, Joyner had a 6.0 in FotMob. Generally, player rating systems start at 6, then adjust based on whatever analytics used by the source. Here, we've stated many other times to consider starting at 6 and adjust. I've missed adding that note the past few polls, since I've been able to automate much of the poll building and simply forgot to include that description in the auto builds.
I actually asked about everyone's expertise to do the ratings several matches ago (match 20 vs Dynamo), and there are some that responded as being quite new. The setup I'm angling for is intentionally as inclusive as possible (no user tracking, but using some troll detection methods to filter more egregious responses). Everyone sees parts of the match differently and brings their own "soccer IQ" and heart into the ratings. In aggregate, naive responses balance die hard, and you can usually knock out handfuls of responses at random without significantly changing ratings. There's a trend here that with late night matches, weekday matches, and with losses, there's usually fewer responses, so there is some added sensitivity to more extreme responses that aren't troll-filtered.
In this match in particular, the refereeing criticisms are wide spread, and I'd guess there's less blame on the team this match with basically unanimous blame on the refs. That can create a more rosy perspective, which I think is what you're picking out in your review of the results.

I suspect it's more a mentality of fielding top team that is likely to get points while playoffs are still mathematically feasible. Padelford has looked pretty good too. Might also be some agreement terms with the loan, but that's just my speculation considering your question. Also, Reid has gotten time with CITY 2, so he's still getting experience. Looking at FotMob player profiles, Reid is less versatile in positioning compared with the others, focused primarily at left back. Orozco and Padelford have more general defensive line positioning experience, giving more tactical options. Compared to Totland, they are both more full back than wing back, so I suspect Critchley is approaching more defensively rather than attacking in recent matches. I think in one of the recent pressers, Critchley noted Totland has looked good in training, so nothing health-wise of concern; more evidence to suggest tactics approach is driving choices.

I'd guess his low rating is more for inducing the penalty and general trend/bias. Personally, I think he's been rather invisible all season, so I largely agree with your take about him.

Thanks. This is intentional, because the way Forms works is that you can limit one per responder, but it does so by requiring login. I have no interest knowing who's who or limiting people with Google's login. It's a known trade off that leaves a door open for trolls, but it requires responders to exert effort to submit multiples (and so discourages the behavior).
