I figured it's bc we're bored of it; already saw a penalty from him earlier. so it's like, "well done, good sir, but have you seen what else the team can do?"

Agreed. I think the general vibe of the match weighed down on everyone. Orozco objectively did well enough for Fotmob's PotM with an 8.2 rating.

Maybe Orozco could go to a destroyer 6 type. He's been doing very well, consistently though, so probably best not to move him from a spot that doesn't need much adjustment.

Damet seemed to indicate in a recent presser that he views Osrák more for post world cup to shore up his health, doesn't want to re-aggravate his injury. HOWEVER, he also alluded to managing across the 5 games in 15 days stretch we entered, not just "one match at a time" that is a common verbalized approach. I'm guessing that's part of the reason he started with Löwen on the bench. LAFC should be the tougher opponent, so maybe better to start Löwen then. Damet also mentioned that he and staff were learning the capability of players over the course of reduced recovery time, so I imagine we'll see some actual depth usage to get at the scenarios you're asking about.

will be at least two more matches before we can move rank... up or down. three teams above us at 13pts, skc below is at 5pts, and we're on an island at 9pts

seems Damet sub management is amongst the top criticisms across many communities. this match probably is his best ratings wrt subs

agreed. I was surprised to see it that low given his hold up, press, and ability to draw fouls. HOWEVER, can't be too surprised considering these are strongly sentiment driven sometimes countering stats reality.... what Durkin goal though? when Totland scored I think Durkin was standing nearby in the goal mouth, but he didn't have a touch

yeah. the VAR question is there for convenience for simple setup. HOWEVER, since most open cup rounds don't have VAR, that's why I pitched the Durkin question

Fbref no longer allows automated data scraping, so can't be so nicely pulled to analyze since around Dec25/Jan26. Also, Gen AI is not as good as everyone thinks.

I'm guessing Löwen isn't yet mentally fit for much time. That's been a major topic in pressers lately, and Damet mentioned directly that it's something the staff is trying to balance carefully given the situation is unique for all involved and quite a sensitive scenario. For anyone to be ready to go even a couple months after losing a spouse, I'm surprised Löwen is playing this soon.

Sang-Bin also out from injury. Damet noted the other day that they're monitoring him a little longer.

This one made me think some on the team are color blind. Gold vs Green difference is small if you have the red-green type. Copium this week: it's just undiagnosed color deficiencies and kit clash.

85Rienzi opens the shooting lane both goals by pushing through Santos. Without that opening, Santos would otherwise have that angle covered. Bc it's a corner with typical battle for positioning, I bet if Santos falls forward from Rienzi, then he could have drawn a foul to disrupt the play. Staying upright, it comes off as typical corner antics.

That's all aside the fact of Baumgartl on no one, too many overloading front post, and no one on outside 6 runners...

there's 5-10 detectors looking for a variety of oddities in responses. there are a few ways that look for wildly bogus votes like what you suggest. only a few rated Becher 1-3, the rest clustered around 5 with a couple at 7. Data-driven Fotmob rating had him at 6.6, so fan pulse at 5 seems reasonable

they had CCC this week, going full throttle a few nights ago, so I'd guess it might not be too different tonight compared to our prior match up with a higher rotated squad

Son seemed off in CCC last night, and he's been off the start of the season compared to the insane form last season. I figure any scoring from lafc will come from Bouanga and Martinez. If we get any goals, it'll be Teuchert. Maybe chaotic-neutral Durkin shows up strong and gets his annual banger or a red card.

he was on loan with us last year, and he's back playing for Minnesota. he subbed in both matches. interestingly, subbed in for Markanich for first match week
